Ok this is pure fantasy, its a sort of mix between LotR and Anime. Almost anything goes in this story. Technology wise its early industrial age, no guns.
Story(btw it gives a large hint):
About 8000 years ago the Demon Franta was ressurected wishing the promise of long life by a cult. Instead of granting it Franta anihalated the cult and went on a rampage through the world of Talkan. About 2 years after he was ressurected he was destroyed and seperated into 200 peices and spread over the vast seas and continents to stop it from happening again.
The legend of how he was destroyed is pretty sketchy on true events but none recorded exactly how he was defeated. Franta was defeated by the warrior of light who used a magical sword made from pure light. No one is exactly sure what happened to the sword. Some say that it was destroyed when Talkan was slain others say that it was past down the family line and given to the best swordsmen in the family.
Whats availible:
[glow=blue,2,300]Magic[/glow]:
There are 3 types of magic which you can choose a Primary and a Secondry but you can only have 1 spell of secondry:
[glow=Red,2,300]Black Magic[/glow]:Destruction and generally stuff that can kill
[glow=Yellow,2,300]White Magic[/glow]:The opposite of Black, White magic is all about healing and protecting
[glow=Gray,2,300]Shamanism[/glow]:Somewhere imbetween Black and White, Shamanism has powerful spells that are close to the destructive power Black magic. It also offers very good protection spells.
In short, Black magic is Offensive, White is Defensive and Shamanism is Offensive while offering Defensive spells.
When casting your most powerful spell you have to recite the words outloud, lesser spells you don't really need to spend time saying a spell you can just say the spell name and do what ever.
You can choose not to use magic.
[glow=orange,2,300]Weapons[/glow]:
They can be anything from small kitchen knives to giant broad two handed swords (remember anime?). You are not allowed to have guns, that includes things that are magical and seem alot like a gun.
Your weapons can have have certain propities for example you may have a shield that deflects or resists all magic. Or your sword hilt can have a normal blade in it but you can detach it and create a sword thats pure flame.
[glow=red,2,300]Charaters[/glow]
Similar to my Uni thread, you can't have any uber person. You can have the same spells as other people but you have to be in the same magic type. Even if your a sorceror you can use swords and shields etc. You can have one ultimate spell only, which you should place an * next to and if you want to make up the words now or do it later.

Ok I think we can start..
Tino sat in the corner of a food house occasionally poking the food he had ordered. He was almost constantly looking around him for assassins. A few months earlier he had been hired to retrieve a red gem about the size of a fist and an almost perfect sphere. After he retrieved from a cave infested with trolls he gave it to the man who hired him, who had been aswell as his gaurds were wearing dark red robes, immediatly sent his gaurds to kill him. He used his destruction wing and quickly ran off with the gem.
He watched as a woman in black robes enter and sit in the opposite corner browsing the menu but clearly not interested in what was on offer. Tinos eyes returned to the man sitting close to the door who had his rabbit hide covered feet on the table.

Eventually his eyes were drawn back to the woman, who was staring over the top of her menu out of the window, as though waiting for something. He watched her for a while but for several minutes she did nothing. Tino glanced at the man in the corner but he, too, seemed have no agenda. Tino really didn't suspect either of them of being his enemy but one could never be too careful.
A few minutes later another man appeared in the doorway. His startlingly white hair and dark-painted eyes caught Tino's attention immediately. He watched the new man look suspiciously around the room then stride purposefully over to the dark-haired girl and sit down beside her. Though their faces were both hidden from this angle, Tino could tell they were conversing. Shifting his weight slightly he moved to the side to lip-read their hushed conversation. The girl was already talking, and fast, by the looks of it. "...been there for three hours and nothing happened. So I contacted Jari and came straight here. I don't think he's been here at all." "And the other?" the man replied. It was hard to tell what he said because his mouth barely moved as he spoke. "He hasn't moved." "Where is he?" "Table six. Black and red cloak." Though neither of them turned their heads and their eyes remained fixed on the menu, Tino knew instantly that they were talking about him. He forced himself not to move, keeping his eyes down, his mind racing. Who were they, and why were they watching him?

Tino put his hand into his pocket and threw a few coins onto the table and quickly left the establishment. Fortunatly it was a busy day in the towns market and he quickly slipped off into an alley with his hand poised at the starting position to cast his fire ball. He looked around the alley, there was no way of escape if he needed it. He quickly patted a small bundle tied to his belt making sure he hadn't left it behind.

[glow=red,2,300]Okay fair enough. I don't suppose it matters really [/glow] A second later his relief disappeared as he spotted the two from the cafe, both standing in the crowd looking around as though looking for someone. Tino cursed, raising his hands and preparing to fire in case they came too close. Sure enough, a moment later the man pointed and the two of them started towards him. Tino forced himself not to retreat, taking aim at the girl. As soon as they were clear of the crowd they spotted him, and the position of his hands told them everything. Both of them began to run towards him. Tino released the fireball as hard as he could in their direction. There was a crash of impact and the flames exploded in every direction. Tino threw a hand up to shield his eyes, but over the sound of burning he could still he footsteps. As the light dimmed he looked up again, and to his horror, behind a dimly shimmering blue haze the two people still stood, completely unharmed. The girl lowered her arms and the Shield dissipated. Tino raised his hands again. "Don't," the girl said quickly, approaching with her hands raised. "Pease, don't. I can only block so many attacks and after that Kai will have to strike you back, and I don't want you to get hurt too early on." Tino was so surprised at this that he hesitated, keeping his hands ready. "Who are you?" he demanded. "Easy," the girl said, still approaching. "Lower your hands. I'm not your enemy." "I said, who are you?" he shouted. "Stop! Don't come any closer, or I'll strike!" "I told you," the girl said, stopping. "There's no point. I'll deflect any fire you throw at me." "I'll use the Phoenix Wing," Tino shouted. "Don't think I won't. You're precious Shields won't stand up to that." "Well put," the girl said with a small smile. "I've stopped, okay? I won't come any closer."

Tino lowered his hands and quickly studied their appearances. The girl was smaller and seemed to have a natural kindness in her face. The man over six foot towered above her his face was unrevealing. Both seemed to know how to fight. He put his hands down but kept his fingers tense.
"So who are you?" He asked again "I am Eliso" the girl gestured to her self and then to the man "This is Kai" "What do you want?" "Some fun" Kai said "I don't do that kind of fun" Tino replied which left Eliso puzzled and Kai smiling slightly. "Adventures, We heard you travel alot and well we have been wanting another companion for a long time" Kai said "You may not want me as your companion" "You claim you can cast Pheonix Wing surely you can defend yourself from anything?" Eliso said convicingly. Tino thought for a moment. "Meet me at the Inn at the south east corner of the town this evening" He put his hand back under his cloak which covered his entire body making it seem he was gliding towards them. He sliently walked between them and out of the alley. Eliso look at Kai puzzled by why he wanted them to meet him later.

Tino arrived that night armed to the teeth, still suspicious of his two new aquaintances. He sat in the corner of the inn near the fire, drumming his fingers on the table and waiting for them to arrive. This had to be about something more than just adventure, he thought. Ten minutes later the two of them arrived. Eliso had tied her hair back, revealing her gentle face and kind eyes. In contrast, Kai's sharply gelled hair covered much of his eyes. The pair of them didn't look like they belonged together, Tino thought slowly. Eliso spotted him and they hurried over to him. "Drinks on me," Eliso said happily, tipping several gold coins onto the table. "Go fetch, Kai." For someone so much taller than her, Tino thought, Kai was strangely ready to obey the girl's orders. Maybe there was something between them, he thought. Eliso spotted the look in his eyes. "We aren't together," she said quickly, as though reading his mind. "Kai's a quiet sort of guy. He's a great fighter and he's strong and he can be violent, but's he's such a gentleman. Thanks, Kai," she added, as he set her glass down in front of her. "So what's this about?" Tino asked. Eliso took a small sip then set the glass down again. "Well, as we said, we are out for an adventure. We hear you are the type of person we could want with us. We need a Black Magic user in our team, right, Kai? And you're well-known for your skills, Master Tino." "How do you know of me?" Tino asked suspiciously. "How couldn't we?" Eliso said. "What you did to the Crimson Sorcerer!" Tino's eyes widened as he thought back to the red-robed man who had tried to kill him, and his hand closed around the gem in his pocket. "I thought..." "That no one knew? Don't worry, Tino, you're secret is safe with us." "But how did you know?" "Word travels around Shammans, doesn't it, Kai? Kai's a member of the Dragon Whisperers," she added. "You know, the Shammans of the North, South, East and West. He's in the West devision, I believe. They found out from spies in the North." This was a lot for Tino to take in. He'd heard of the Dragon Whisperers but had always had his doubts about their existence. "So?" Eliso prompted. "Are you in?" Jeez, he thought, this woman's fast. "What exactly are you planning?" "Well, we have a proposition for someone. Ever heard of the Demon Lord Bonesaw?" Tino shook his head. "He has a map to a place we're quite keen to get to. We're going to meet him, and see if we can either get the map from him or get him to come along." Tino stared at her. "You're parleying with Demons?" "Why not? They're not all bad," Eliso said cheerfully. "And where is it you're trying to get with this map?" Eliso smiled slowly. "I can only tell you that once you've proved your worth to us, I'm afraid," she said. "So, are you in?"

"Why should I join you if I have no idea whats going on?" Tino stared into Eliso's eyes to try and make her give out some information. "I suppose.." Kai said while playing with his fingers "That gem, put it on the table" Eliso ensisted "Oh now you know about that as well, is there anything you don't know?" Tino sighed "Your birthday" Kai replied even though he knew it was rehtorical. Tino pulled out the gem and unwrapped it. Kai and Eliso gasped. "Yes" She said picking up the gem and looking over it "It's the eye alright" "The 'Eye'?" Tino asked "You've heard of the legend about Franta being split into two hundred pieces right?" "Who hasn't, just a story to scare children isn't it?" "It's quite real. What you have is one of Franta's eyes, see" She pointed to one spot "On this bit you can make out his pupil. Put it away" She said placing it back on the leather wrapping "We have been getting reports that some of the peices were being collected but we didn't know how bad it was until we got a spy into the group gathering them" Kai said" You have the last peice they need, they've been gathering them for centuries and we were quite sure that the crimson sorcerer had joined them, we were going to deal with him but you saved us some time by getting him unawares" Tino hid the eye back under his cloak, his face now grim. "So why do we need the map?" "We plan to steal as many peices as possible and hide them and well...we don't really know where they are. Rumour has it that the map is more of a riddle than a mark on a map" "Why not vaporise them?" "You think the people 8000 years ago didn't try that?" The door of the Inn opened and Tino leant back into the shadows. The person standing at the door was a hooded figure in red with a symbol on the arm of his clothes that he recognised. It was the same as the one he saw on the gaurds he had killed before, a Sliver serpent with bright red eyes.

Eliso cursed under her breath. "Don't move." Tino didn't have time to question before his vision was suddenly blinded, then returned. Everything around him seemed shrouded in a strange, purple haze. He froze, remembering what Eliso had said. He could still see the man at the door. Glancing sideways he saw Eliso and Kai were both also sitting perfectly still, and a strange mauve light was in their eyes. Tino watched the man nervously, trying to keep as still as possible, when he suddenly looked straight at him. Tino only just managed to keep himself still; the man looked straight past him and after a few seconds he left the inn again. A moment later his vision had returned to normal and Eliso and Kai were already on their feet. "Come on," Eliso said, as though he should know exactly what was going on. "They're probably swarming outside. We have to get out of here." Tino jumped to his feet and followed them to the other side of the inn. "What just happened?" "Invisibility Shield," Eliso said breathlessly. "Not easy and don't expect it again. We may have to fight to get out of here," she added nervously. Tino looked out of the window and saw what she had seen; a group of about eight crimson-hooded men were assembled on the courtyard, the same serpent glittering in the moonlight on their forearms.

"I can't use my magic from here and I doubt I would want to" Tino growled "Too many people in the street and I would probably miss after the first Fireball, I could use..."
Kai pulled out his swords and burst out into the court yard screaming his head off. The hooded men were taken aback, they were not expecting someone like Kai to be there. The hooded figures quickly cast the same spell, in their hands appeared a spear made of fire which they threw at them. Tino ducked as he ran out of the door. One of the spears landed on a table inside and it burst into flames. The hooded men pulled out their own swords and charged at Kai. Tino quickly got himself into position, he placed his palms on the ground and muttered "Earth strike my foe and defend those who wish to protect you, send your spire to save us!" The ground shook slightly and out of nowhere a solid rock spire shot straight out of the ground and impaled one of the men while knock some of them over. It continued to rise up as high as a house before quickly shooting back down.

Eliso dived aside as the spire plunged back into the ground with a tremendous crash. Tino and Kai hauled her to her feet and they stood facing the remaining three strangers. Tino and Kai ran at them and threw themselves into combat. Eliso ran back the opposite way, around to the side of the inn where a ladder led onto the flat roof. From there she lay on her front casting protective Shields around the other two whenever a sword flew at them from behind or freezing the enemies for just long enough for Kai or Tino to kill them. Kai thrust his sword through the last of them and Eliso leapt down beside them. Most of the courtyard had cleared, people running in terror, leaving them a clear route towards the city gates. "Now would be a great time for you to decide if you want to come with us," Eliso said breathlessly to Tino. Without another word she and Kai started at a run to the gates. Tino hesitated for a second, his mind racing...

This is close to what my character looks like, minus the elf part. wow-dd.svarov.org/Artwork/Artwork_soubory/J_High%20Elf%20Blood%20Mage.jpgTino glanced around looking at the damage. He quickly realised that if he stayed he would have to pay for it and the assassins would know where he was. He sheathed his sword and ran after them picking up a couple of apples as ran by a stall. He caught up with them and they raced to the gate. When they arrived they found it shut and most of the gaurds away. There was no way out. It was a large metal grid gate. Looking behind themselves they saw some of the gaurds running to stop them from escaping. "Leave it to me" Tino winked and his ands mimed running his hands going over a solid ball and quickly the fireball appeared in his hands. He sent it at the gate causing a small explosion, when the fire dissapated the gate had a large hole melted into it. "Come on!" They stopped running sometime later and rested under a willow tree exhausted, Kai had fallen asleep as soon as they stopped. "That isn't how I wanted to leave town. We havn't got much food either" Eliso sighed. Tino tossed her an apple which she bit into hungrily. "What will we do if we can't stop them getting the eye?" Tino asked "Have to find the Sword of Light then" She said while chewing on the apple. "I doubt we could use that even if we did find it" He replied "Why?" "I spent some time studying a way of creating my own one and I came across some ancient scrolls. Inside it said that the only way someone can use it is if they are a descendant of the first owner" "Did you make your own in the end?" "It's impossible to do now, some lost technique" he sighed biting into his own apple

Eliso finished her apple and cast the core into the small stream running alongside them. The two of them watched it bob away and out of sight. "Sorry, Tino," Eliso said at length, quietly. Tino turned to look at her. "I mean, I'm sorry for dragging you away from the town like that. With no warning and all. I should have explained myself properly instead of cornering you like that." "Forget it," Tino said. "At least you let me know about the assassins." Eliso smiled sadly, and a moment later she was back to her cheerful self. "Well, we're out now, and already on our way." She grinned at Tino. "I take it this means you'll come with us to find Bonesaw?"

He was barely aware of closing his eyes when, a second later, they snapped open again. He couldn't tell how long had passed but it was now dark, a perfectly clear starry night. Eliso and Kai were both asleep beside him. For a moment he gazed absently down at his sleeping companions, wondering what could have woken him. He stood up and stretched himself, listening for any sound that could have roused him, but it seemed to be a perfectly ordinary night. But Tino didn't trust this ideal: one was never woken for nothing. For several seconds he stood perfectly still, watching and listening, waiting.

He looked all around himself, he couldn't see a thing in the moon light. He heard a twig snap from behind, spinning round he saw the siloete of a fox sneak between the bushes. Tino sighed and looked up into to the tree. Above him was an owl but it did not seem like an ordinary owl. It had piercing blue eyes which glared right into Tino sending a cold chill all over him and he lost all ability to move. The howl hooted and flew off into the night, slowly Tino returned to normal but he felt that it was still watching, spying on them for some reason.

Eliso was the first awake the following morning, and she had packed their few possessions before either of the others were awake. Kai disappeared to 'scout the area' as Eliso rekindled their fire and started making what she called 'breakfast'. "Where are we going to get supplies from?" Tino asked, watching Eliso pushing half-roasted berries around the makeshift pan. "There's a little village near here, about a day's walk," she said. "I know the owner of a tavern come convenience store there. Quite well, in fact, if you know what I mean. He's bound to help us out." "Right," Tino said, hoping that Eliso's idea of supplies was slightly more edible than her 'quick breakfast'.

Kai came back from scouting the area with his pockets full of berries. When he tried to eat one Eliso smacked it out of its hand telling him it was poisonous. Kai grumbled as he turned out his pockets, it seemed that he had picked the bush clean. They set out after Eliso gave them a brief lesson on what berries to pick.
They set out soon after walking in mostly silence, the occasional joke or story passed some time but Tino didn't quite fit in yet and they weren't completely comfortable telling him about their pasts. About midday they rested by a stream and they were starving. Eliso pulled out a few of her long hairs and twisted them into a sort of string. She tied it onto a a stick and did some other things that neither Kai nor Tino could see. When she was finished she had made a complete fishing rod. The hair was now a proper line and she quickly sat down next to the stream then almost straight away she flung a fish over her head.

Kai and Tino started gathering up the fish Eliso was catching, and Kai eventually found the courage to ask, "How did Eliso learn so much about outdoor survival?" Kai grunted. "She's a wanderer," he said gruffly. "You pick up things when you do that." Tino nodded, wondering if he was ever going to get anymore information than this. "You'd have to spend your whole life in the wild to learn what she knows," he said carefully. "Well of course," Kai said, deftly dispatching the fish. "She has, pretty much. Ever since she was sent from the Shadow Clan she's had nowhere to go, till we met." Tino nodded as though this information was perfectly normal, but inside he registered it carefully...the Shadow Clan was well-known, not only as a powerful and successful group of Black Magic users but also, at one point, dangerous Dark Art practicers. He glanced back at Eliso, wondering how far the teachings of such dangerous and evil power could have been embuilt into her.

They cooked and ate the fish then when they were satisfied, they set off again towards the village. The same chill that Tino had felt when he saw the owl came back. Glancing around he couldn't see anything in the trees or bushes but he knew something was watching them.
It was late in the evening when they finally made it to the village. It wasn't very large and many of the people they saw were travelers seeking a place to stay. Eliso stopped at a stall to look at some strange statues, close by there was a notice board. Kai looked it over when he spotted something. "Hey Tino, theres a picture of you on here. It's pretty good too!" Tino came over and looked it over "Huh, why is there a picture of me? Hey theres on of you and Eliso too!" He pulled the picture of the board revealing the full paper. "This isn't good" "I thought its a pretty good likeness to you" "Shut up, its a wanted poster!" He pulled down the other one, it said the same thing on it in large letters, 'Wanted'. "This isn't good" "Why would someone want us?" Kai still unbelievably unawares to what it meant. "Its a poster for bounty hunters you idiot! They pay the first person who is able to kill or capture us and bring proof of it!" "Oh" Kai replied as Tino ripped the posters up into tiny peices. Turning around Tino noticed several more posters placed on walls and doors into shops. "Eliso!" Tino Shouted

"Down with the shouting!" Eliso said, hurrying back over to them. "What's up?" "That's up," Tino said, pointing. Eliso saw what he was referring to. "Ah. This isn't good." "I thought it was pretty good," Kai mumbled. "Well, I think we have two alternatives," Eliso said presently. "Which are?" "One, we take down all the posters, find some new clothes and disguise ourselves from anyone who's already seen them--which is just about everyone." "Not possible," Tino said. "Um, guys?" Kai tugged at Eliso's sleeve and pointed back. The three of them turned around, and found themselves face-to-face with three tall, blatantly armed men dressed in black. Dangling from the tallest's hand was one of the posters. "Um," Tino hissed, "Eliso?" "Yeah?" "What was the second option?" Eliso sighed. "RUN!"

They ran down the street as fast as they could, shoving through various groups of people and around crates. They got to the end of the street to a T. "Split" Eliso said, Kai went left while Tino and Eliso went right. "So what else did the poster say?" She called back to Tino "We commited crimes against humanity!" he called back "Now every person who thinks he or she is dealing out justice will be after us!"
They continued running through alleys and small streets, through Inns and through the back entrances. Glancing back they occasionally saw two of the men after them. They turned into another small street and out of nowhere Kai ran straight into the side of Eliso. She got up first pulling Kai up afterwards. Tino quickly came up and urged them forward as the three bounty hunters came after them still.

"This is ridiculous!" Tino shouted as they ran. "We can't just run forever!" "Well unless you know the way out," Eliso called back, "then we don't have much of a choice!" "We need a diversion!" Tino said. "If one of us can distract them the others can find the way out and we can escape without being seen." Kai drew his sword as he ran. Tino copied. "Eliso, you search for the exit." "This is because I'm a girl, isn't it?" "Do it!" Kai and Tino skidded to a halt as Eliso ran on. They spun around to face the oncoming bounty hunters.

"Come on you bastards" Tino shouted at them before charging at them with Kai close behind. The hunters with their swords already drawn blocked an parried the incoming swings from Tino and Kai. "You will die betrayers of justice!" One of the men shouted "Oh great!" Tino said as he spun round scratching one the hunters sides "Wannabe heros" Kai was still fighting with one handed and while he had one distracted he pulled out his other sword slashing the hunter across his chest. "Screw this" he said and cast a fireballe directly into one. The remaining one gave up and ran off.

"Great," Kai said breathlessly. "Now we just gotta find Eliso." Together they headed back up the street the way she had gone.
Eliso had, meanwhile, found her way into the town market square. Glancing around, she quickly sneaked in and tapped a young boy on the shoulder. "Pardon me, kid, but where's the town gates?" The child looked at her strangely, wondering why anyone in the town wouldn't know. "Straight up that path and to the left. Near the fountain. Why?" At least, Eliso thought he asked why, but she had already turned and ran so she wasn't sure. Around the corner she spotted it, flanked by two guards. Eliso ducked behind a corner, then decided there was nothing for it. Sweeping back her sleeves she rubbed her hands together then pointed both hands at the left-hand guard. He'd been pretty motionless to begin with, but now he was completely frozen. His partner hadn't even noticed when he, too, was solid as ice. As Eliso ran towards the gate, Tino and Kai skidded around the corner and ran after her. Eliso and Kai hauled the gates open and the three of them hurried out, pausing just in time to close and barricade the gates before running for it.

They stopped on a hil over looking the town panting and frustrated. It had only been two days and they had already been forced out of two places. "So much for that plan...." Tino sighed "We go back" Eliso said "We what?" Kai and Tino both replied "We need supplies desperatly and the guy I know would never believe the posters. Then again he doesn't believe most things you say" she continued "And how do you propose we get back in?" Tino asked "Well...that I havn't worked out yet" she sighed and sat down watching the roads around the villages.
