"well.. er.. I.. um." stuttered Ahelos "YOU CHANGED HER!" Shouted Flak suddenly "SHE'S A VAMPIRE! SHE'S GOING TO KILL US ALL! AND ITS BECAUSE OF YOU!" as Flak said this, he pulled out his pistol. he shot the wall behind Ahelos' head. "HOLY S**T RILEY!" screamed Ahelos. Flak's look turned murderous. "DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME BY THAT NAME!" he shouted and kicked Ahelos, and again. "FLAK NO!" shouted Captain from the entrance. She charged at Flak grabbing him by the waist. Flak instinctively smacked Captain over the head with his pistol, she fell to the ground unconcious. Flak expression changed from a smile of triumph to a look of shock and disbelief. "Oh my god! Kerry what have i done." he said in a worried and frightened tone. Flak ran out of the room and down the corridor. Ahelos, who was still conciouss, though covered in blood, saw him leave.

Suddenly Ahelos remembered that Captian was on the floor unconcious. She got out of bed and checked her over, she was still breathing. Just as she was putting her in recovery postion she heard someone running towards her. "What happened here? I heard screaming" Said Monroe

Captain awoke with a start. She swore loudly and held a hand to her head. "Where did he go?!" Captain asked with serious urgency. "I don't know." said Ahelos. then suddenly it came to Captain 'the cliff' she stood up and ran out of the door in almost one movement. "Wait, Kerry!" shouted Ahelos but Captain was already long gone. Captain arrived at the cliff edge and saw Flak leaning up against the tree. Was she too late? No! she heard sobbing, she ran in between Flak and the cliff edge. "I wont let you do it Riley. I won't let you die today!" Captain said nearly in tears herself. As Flak lifted his head up she saw that he was pointing his pistol at his head. "RILEY NO!!" she screamed. CLICK! the clip was empty, Captain charged at Flak and tackled him to the ground, Flak kicked Captain over his back, then grabbed her by her throat and held her one handed over the cliff edge. He then brought up his other pistol to his head. "We die together" he said darkly "Riley, no" sobbed Captain barely above a whisper. Suddenly Flak's look changed, he bagan shaking with anger. He than pulled Captain back and held her in his arms. "If there's one thing i hate more than Ahelos at this time.." he whispered in her ear "..Its reavers." at this he let go and sprinted towards the hangar Captain turned around and saw what Flak had seen. At least 30 reaver aircraft all heading towards them. "Holy f**k!" she shouted and charged off after Flak, as she did so the air raid sirens began whirring. "Feln! Julius! Ahelos! Monroe!" Captain yelled and yelled as she ran. "Reavers! REAVERS! REAVERS OVERHEAD! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" It wasn't long Feln and Julius ran out of the building, closely followed by Monroe, then by Ahelos. Captain realised that they were thankfully all carrying guns. The aircrafts were almost above them. Flak was already firing up at them, and Julius joined him. Monroe and Ahelos ran over to Captain, who was still shouting, tears streaked down her face. Monroe took her gun from her and fired up at it, shouting a command at Ahelos that Captain couldn't hear over the gunfire. Ahelos nodded and grabbed Captain, leading her back towards the building. Captain just followed without struggling. They ran back to the building. "Kerry, are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine..." Captain wiped her eyes, to little effect. "Riley tried to...he tried to..." "Don't cry, Kerry..." Ahelos hugged her again. "Is he okay?" "No," Captain mumbled, her eyes streaming. "He's sick, Ahelos. He's not well. He's going to get himself hurt. He's not well." "Don't worry about him," Ahelos said in an unconvincing tone. "I can't help it," cried Captain. "Ahelos, don't tell him--don't tell anyone this, but--" She lowered her voice, "I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. When we were born, our mother was very ill. Everyone thought Ril--everyone thought Flak would die. Our mother died giving birth to him, and he was braindead for five days before he was brought back to consciousness." She gave a small laugh through her tears. "That's why his birthday is five days after mine..." She was silent for a moment, lost in this small thought. She returned to seriousness: "Our father died when we were eight. He told me before he died that something had happened to Flak when he was born. Something wasn't right with his head. I never understood before, but he told me that Flak wasn't right. I gradually worked this out, and after so long I hoped that maybe he was over it..." She sighed, fresh tears coursing down her face. "I should have known," she said sadly. "I should have helped him. I should have known." [glow=red,2,300]Doesn't help the story but kind of works out what's going on. Ahelos hugged Captain again. "S**T!" they heard Flak shout "WE'RE NEVER GONNA GET THESE F***ERS FROM THE GROUND, RICO, SENDAE WE'RE GOING AIRBORNE!" he continued and ran towards the nearest fighter. "YOU GOT IT BUDDY!" shouted Rico over the sound of the base's anti-air cannons. he nodded to Sendae and they followed Flak skyward. Captain saw the three fighters take off. "No Flak, you crazy idiot!" she said so only Ahelos could here her. Suddenly Ahelos turned to Feln. "FELN, IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THAT PLANE OF YOURS IN THE AIR." she shouted. "YEAH WHY?" Feln replied "Because we need to give them some fire support!" Ahelos pointed towards the three fighters. Feln looked up then looked back at Ahelos and nodded. "Come on Kerry we're going to go help them." said Ahelos grabbing Captains hand and leading her towards the aircraft, Monroe and Julius followed them on board. as they took off, a reaver aircraft crashed into the hangar behind them, Feln heard Flak screaming with delight over the intercom.

"This is not a good idea!" Captain was still shouting. "I think we're beyond good ideas now," Ahelos replied. Both of them were huddled in the back of the aircraft, clutching their guns, waiting to use them. Feln's aircraft soared up into the air till it was level with Flak, Sendae and Rico, who were already firing into the approaching Reavers. Captain could imagine Flak at the controls, shrieking with the malicious laughter that scared her so much, streaking the aircraft into the Reavers with the recklessness that she'd come to forget he had. Feln was firing too, calmly picking out the enemy planes and grounding them in deafening explosions; but Flak, Sendae and Rico's plane was practically out of control, firing all over the place madly. However this ended, Captain thought nervously, would be badyly. She moved closer to Ahelos, scared. Ahelos absent-mindedly put her arm around Captain, never taking her eyes off the Reavers out of the windscreen.

[glow=red,2,300]Just a note Flak Rico and Sendae are in different planes.[/glow]
Rico and Sendae were flying smoothly, picking off enemys one by one, methodically and thoroughly. Flak however was flying eratically and destroying anything that moved in front of him. Then Captains worst feas were realised. Flak was firing at one of the reaver troop carriers when a missile hit his planes left wing and exploded, the plane plummeted to the ground. Captain grabbed hold of the radio and screamed. "RILEY! GODDAM IT EJECT, EJECT, GET OUT OF THERE!" but it was too late the plane spiralled to the ground. "Mother...." Flak's final words were cut short. The plane slammed into the cliff where he and Captain shared so many memories. Everyone on board Feln's plane was speechless. a teary "No!" came across the radio from Sendae.

[glow=red,2,300]Sorry, misread that[/glow] Captain leapt up and wrestled the controls of the plane from Feln's grasp, tears already streaming down her face. Feln, staring blankly out of the windscreen, didn't move, and let Captain bring the plane down on top of the cliff near the firey wreckage. As soon as they plane stopped Ahelos wrenched the doors open and Captain leapt out. "RILEY! RILEY!" She fell to her knees next to the destruction, both hands on the edge of the cliff, staring down with wide eyes. "RILEY! NO!" Ahelos jumped out of the plane and stopped, staring. Smoke was rising from below the cliff and Captain was silhouetted against it, crouched at the edge of the cliff, her cries echoing over the water. "RILEY!" Feln and Julius ran to Ahelos' side, both wide-eyed and staring. "Is he--?" Feln began. Ahelos sighed, turning around. "Yeah," she said, her voice hushed and shocked. "Flak's dead." The firefight in the air went ignored by the four of them for a second. Eventually Ahelos stepped up to Captain. "Kerry..." Captain had released her hands, now resting at her sides. Her eyes were directed past the destruction at the horizon in the distance. Ahelos slowly reached down and touched her shoulder. "Riley." Kerry slowly looked up at Ahelos, her eyes shining, tears streaked down her face. Ahelos opened her mouth to speak then closed it again, shaking her head. She glanced behind; Julius and Feln had returned to the plane, obviously noticing that the fight was still going on. Kerry looked down again at the destroyed plane. "Riley..." Ahelos fell to her knees and, on sudden impulse, embraced Kerry, who fell back into her arms, crying. Ahelos stroked Kerry's hair absent mindedly, her mind blank with shock, staring up as the smoke rose, blocking out the sky above them. [glow=red,2,300]Kind of cliched but I had to get that out RIP Flak[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]May he rest in peace on page 12[/glow]
Anger flooded Captain veins. She was angry at Flak for dying, she was angry at the reavers for ever coming to Tote. She shoved Ahelos away and ran off, she drew her gun.
One of the reaver planes flew slowly over her, she fired her gun repeatedly at it and cursed loudly. "You" Bang "Bastards!" Bang "Can't you" Bang "Take a hint" Bang "When your not welcome?" Bang. She had barely scratched the plane and another one landed nearby, reavers were already pouring out of it. She started walking towards them casually reloading her gun and pulling out a knife. The reavers charged at her. There was a torrent of blood and screams around Captain and soon the reavers were dead and Ahelos and Julius came running up to her. "Cap-" Ahelos started "Shut up! I'm going to kill every single last one of them!" She replied angrily and she marched towards the town where msot of the gunfire was coming from. Ahelos started to follow but Julius stopped her. "Don't get in her way, when shes angry she will kill anyone who gets in her way" Ahelos listened and remembered that Julius had known her much longer than she. "I know" She sighed and drew her sword and followed captain. The one thing she did know for sure, going on your own against so many is suicide.
Monroe came running up to Julius as he watched Ahelos chase after captain. He stopped to catch his breath. "Communications" He took a deep breath "are down, and theres...no way to tell whats the state of everyones situations...whats happening over here?" He was paniking. Julius had never seen Monroe panic before. "One reaver plane destroyed, One has been empyted of reavers and" He paused, he thought quickly of all the fun times he had had with Flak "Flaks dead sir, crashed before he could bail" Monroe stood silent apart from his heavy breathing "I see, I think we need to abandon the island" "But sir, there isn't enough boats or planes to get enough of us out of here!" "I know, some will have to survive in the bunker in the east coast. Some will fly out to where barton used to be, others can sail to somewhere and survive" "But barton was completely destroyed by the Trion bomb" "Exactly, there shouldn't any reavers left on that part of the continent, we will have to start anew again" Monroe sighed and ran to the town to organise the evacuation. Julius turned around and whent back to Felns plane where he saw her making minor repairs with a few dead reavers lying about. "Feln! Monroes evacuating! I expect he will want to fly with us, you get the plane re-fueled while I get rid of excess wieght from the plane" Feln stood straight and a tear rolled down her cheek. She had known so many people that had died, she didn't know how much she could take of it.

Ahh it's like an Elladan/Elrohir setup (for those who play Warhammer); when one dies the other goes mad with grief. Poor Captain Feln ran up to Ahelos. "We're evacuating the island back to Barton," he shouted over the noise. "If we don't hurry we'll be left behind. Rico and Sendae are already in the air." He glanced at where Captain was still firing madly, shouting, crying. "She's warmed to you, Ahelos," Feln said slowly. "See if you can get her to come." Ahelos felt slightly alarmed at the thought, but did as she was told. She slowly approached Captain from behind. Captain didn't look around. "Kerry!" she shouted. "Kerry, come on! Let's get out of here!" To Ahelos' surprise, Kerry turned around. "Go away, Ahelos," she said in a surprisingly steady tone. "Get off the island. I'm not going." "Kerry, come on..." "I'll kill every last motherf*cker among them!" screamed Captain. "I'll kill them all! They'll all die for what they did to Riley!" Ahelos couldn't work out why she reacted to this as she did. All she knew was that the next moment, she'd leapt at Captain and tackled her off her feet and to the ground, holding the gun to the ground at Captain's side. "Listen to me carefully, Kerry," she said loudly. "Come with me. We can get out of here now, and leave the Reavers to the defenders. If we stay here we'll all be killed. It's too late to act from here. Please come with me, Kerry." Captain's hand relaxed around the gun. Tears built in her eyes. Where Ahelos had thrown them they were hidden from the Reavers under the rocks near the cliff. "I don't want to leave, Ahelos," she said, sounding suddenly calm and sad. "This is where Riley and me have always been, right here, on this cliff." Ahelos pulled Captain up and hugged her again. "Riley will always be here, Kerry, and when we've tackled these Reavers you can be too. But please, for the time being, come with me. I don't want to loose you as well." She cast out desperately for something to say. "Don't make the others deal with this on their own. Sendae will need you. I need you, Kerry. I don't want to have to leave you as well as Riley." "We go together," Kerry said sadly, tears tracking down her face. "We are together. We should stay together." "Please, Kerry," Ahelos said, unsure of what else to say. Kerry shook her head, but finally took Ahelos' hand. Ahelos helped her to her feet and Kerry followed her towards the plane. As they ran Ahelos heard Kerry speak quietly again. "Don't leave me alone." "I won't." [glow=red,2,300]Captain is becoming autophobic lol[/glow]

Feln beckoned Ahelos and Kerry towards the aircraft. Monroe lept in just afterwards and the plane, along with 6 others took off from Tote and set off towards the reminents of Barton town. The planes soared up over the island away from where the left behind still fought the Reavers. Ahelos, knelt at Kerry's side, wondered what would happen to the ones who stayed at Tote if they lost the battle. True, if they followed them to Barton, they'd be more prepared for battle and would have a better chance of defeating them, but it made her uneasy to know that they were leaving people behind. Sudden tiredness caught up with her and, before she could consider it properly she had drifted off beside Kerry.

Meanwhile, in the confines of her single seat fighter, Sendae was distraught. She had images of Flak's smiling face morphing into the twisted, contorted, rage induced face that she had seen before he died. She could hear his laugh morphing into the malicious, cackling scream she had heard him use over the radio. A tear trickled down her face how could the one she had devoted her life to be gone. The two of them had shared everything; riches from battles, trinkets, even sex. Now it was gone. She wiped the tear from her face and wondered how Rico must be feeling. He and Flak had been best friends since they were toddlers. How must he be reacting? there was a sudden crackling over the radio. It was Monroe. "Okay Rico, Sendae you stay airborne until we've all landed in case there is any trouble." "Roger that." Sendae heard Rico reply solemnly.

Sendae switched her headset to Rico's, shutting off voices from the others. "Rico?" "Hey, Sendae." "You okay?" "S'pose so. You?" Sendae sniffed, and didn't reply. "Concentrate, Sendae," Rico said, and Sendae could hear his voice trembling. "We're near Barton Town now. We'll get there and find Captain. We'll be okay." Rico switched his headset back to the mainstream. They wouldn't be okay, he knew that. Sendae was distraught. Rico himself was in shock, postponing his grief for a safer time. It was a skill he'd built up over the years. Captain would be heartbroken, he could tell. As for Julius and Feln...there wasn't a single person who wouldn't suffer at the loss of Flak. Even the stranger Ahelos would be affected, if only by the collision and the explosion of the plane. Rico couldn't help thinking, I wonder if she'd imagined this when she joined Captain and Flak. They were nearing Barton Town now, and Rico preoccupied his mind in the way he'd trained himself to, by organising or planning something in his mind. The only thing that occurred to him at that moment was some form of funeral for Flak. He sighed, turning his attention back to the controls, wondering how they were going to cope with this loss if the Reavers weren't defeated soon.

Ahelos sadly roused Kerry as they touched down on the ground. Silently they followed Feln out of the plane. The site where Barton Town had once stood was now nothing more than a ruin of blackened stone and twisted metal. They were standing in the centre of a deserted stretch of land from which jagged pieces of walls jutted up to the sky and broken heaps of rock and brick lay scattered about, the remains of what was once Barton Town. Kerry, Ahelos, Feln and Julius sadly made their way across the destruction. Everything that Kerry's tired, stinging eyes laid on reminded her of the empty feeling stirring inside her: the spot where she had first met Ahelos, the site where she and Flak had met up under cover of darkness, just sneaking out for the thrill of it, the every stone and bolt that somehow, deeply, reminded her of her brother. Sendae and Rico landed beside them and joined them. Sendae's face was streaked with tears as she dragged hre feet, Rico's arm around her shoulders, her eyes sweeping the destruction, taking none of it in. Ahelos felt as though she should say something but could find nothing to say. Eventually Monroe joined them. Under his command the sorry company found their way to a still-standing establishment some distance from their planes: the remains of a building, one of the only ones left with four walls and a roof. Julius and Monroe set about transporting their supplies from the planes, while Rico and Feln scouted the area for danger and Sendae, Kerry and Ahelos simply gave up for the night inside. "Riley, no..." Kerry stepped slowly up to her brother where he stood on the edge of the cliff, framed by a deep sunset, his body fazed but his face clear in her vision. "Don't, Riley...." "It ends here." His voice seemed far away but clear, hitting her ears painfully and reverbarating around her. "Please, Riley," she begged, edging nearer, not seeming to get any closer. "Think about it. Think about Sendae." Riley's slow, emotionless eyes met hers. "I already did." With slow precision he held up his hand; from the hazy mist around him Sendae's head, severed, dripping with blood, came into focus, hanging lifelessly from his hand. Kerry's mouth was open in a silent scream but she couldn't make a sound. Riley's eyes glanced downward, and Kerry found herself staring at Rico's dead body, his eyes gazing skywards. A twisted, crazed smile formed on Riley's face as he stepped backwards. "Riley...RILEY!""Kerry!" Something smacked her face hard. Captain woke with a start, sitting up sharply, breathing hard. She took a moment to gain her bearings, huddled in the corner of the cabin, Ahelos crouched beside her. She looked nervous. "Are you okay?" Captain shook her head, shrinking back against the wall. "Dreams," she muttered, drying her eyes. "It won't leave me alone. Riley...Sendae...He..." She trailed off. Ahelos placed a hand on her shoulder. "I get them, too," she said quietly. "Flashes of the past. It happens." Captain sighed, unconsciously laying her hand on Ahelos'. "You, too?" Ahelos nodded. "We're alone here, Ahelos," Captain said sadly, tears running down her face. "Me and you. No one knows us. No one can help us." Ahelos slowly placed her hands on Captain's, staring into her eyes, and Captain closed her hands around Ahelos'. "All alone." Something inside them both linked through their eyes, something held together. "Alone." Ahelos slowly moved closer to Captain. [glow=red,2,300]Something's up [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]The male brain thinks of many outcomes. One hopes theres a camera. Also there were several other planes coming so don't forget them. Varied sizes aswell[/glow]
"I don't get it" Julius said "Don't get what" Monroe asked "How did this building survive a Trion bomb. Trion bombs are suppose to pratically flatten anything and this one is quite close to the center of the blast" "Don't you remember what this building has inside?" "Er, a bed?" Julius had no clue "Well inside there should be a sheild generator, experimental and could only cover one house, it stops pratically all of it. Unfortunatly we never tested how good it was. One large problem was that people could walk right through it" "Monroe, how many secret projects go on in, I mean did go in Barton?" "I'm not allowed to say" Julius frowned and went towards the door. He pushed it open and it fell off its hinges. "Well, I guess it couldn't deflect all of the energy" Monroe said shrugging.
Julius went inside and Mornoe followed. Pratically everything inside was about to fall apart. Even the cieling looked like it was going to collapse soon
"This won't last long...we won't be able to live in here" Julius said, another plane could be heard touching down. They left the building and a roof tile fell down and landed next to Monroe. "No, neither do I"
A group of people had gathered outside the new plane. Julius smiled and ran over to the group and hugged one of them. It was his neice, "Alexis, oh thank god you survived" "Yeah, er thanks" she struggled to say "Could you squeeze a little less" He loosened his grip "Thanks" "Wheres my brother?" "Well erm," Fear filled Julius' face "He's dead isn't he?" "Not exactly, he was in a group that got sent to the bunker" Julius was slightly relieved that his brother maybe alive.
Monroe came strolling up and talked to the pilot asking how many planes he saw taking off, if any were lost. Also if he had anything to build shelters out of. Luckily the plane had corrigated iron sheets which were to be used to build a new outpost before the attack. They started to rebuild.

[glow=red,2,300]Trust me Aulius, all the outcomes occure to the female brain too. Let's hope the door that Captain and Ahelos are behind isn't as likely to fall down as the others are [/glow] Kerry pushed Ahelos down on the bed, staring into her bright, depthless green eyes. Ahelos gazed back; Kerry's eyes were still brimming with tears but beyond this she could see something else there, something drawing Ahelos towards her, something calling for her to be there. Ahelos slowly raised a hand and brushed the tears from Kerry's eyes. Kerry silently caught Ahelos' hand, pushing back down to her side, and leaned towards her, gently brushing her lips against Ahelos'. Kerry's grip loosened around Ahelos', and Ahelos reached up, closing her arms around Kerry. She pushed her onto the bed beside her, their lips still locked together. Kerry ran a hand through Ahelos' sparkling hair, her eyes closing, feeling Ahelos' hands against her back, then her stomach, feeling waves of warmth washing over her everytime they moved. Ahelos raised her hands around Kerry's face, breaking off, her eyes never leaving Kerry's face. For a moment she debated what to say. Kerry shook her head, placing a finger on Ahelos' lips. "Don't," she whispered. There was no need to speak, and nothing to say. Kerry kissed her again, and Ahelos let herself relax in her arms, snaking her hands behind Kerry's head, brushing through her hair. "Ahelos? Sorry, I was about to--holy sh--" Julius froze in the doorway, staring. Ahelos and Kerry looked up meekly. "Um," Julius said vaguely. "I'll...I'll come back later."
