[glow=red,2,300]"Chavs"[/glow]
One of the growing trends in Britain is the “Chav”. I want to get rid of them from Hampshire and here’s why. I’m sure I’m not the only person in the world, to have come across some of the nasty habits they have.
“What am I talking about?” You say.
I’m talking about things like: chewing gum on the floor; spit dotted around the pavement; cigarette butts lying every where upon the ground, and the smoke exhaled from children as young as thirteen. Still don’t know what I’m talking about? Then take a trip down to your local McDonald’s and you’ll understand.
An illustration of “Chavs” behaviour is often displayed outside McDonald’s. They hang around outside the window, sitting on their bikes, having rude conversations and shouting things that you wouldn’t want your little children to hear.
For example: My friend was going to McDonalds, when a child, who must have been at the most ten years old, jumped out in front of him and shouted in his face “You startin’!”.
My friend then replied “Right, typical “Chav”. You jump out in front of me trying to pick a fight which you know you’ll lose, to make your self look big in front of your friends. I walk away and you look like the hardest person around. One day you’re going to pick a fight with some one who’s not going to walk away. They’re going to hit you.”
The boy said “Whatever” and made a rude hand gesture at him.
On the way out of the McDonald’s my friend saw the boy jump out in front of a thirty year old man, and this time it was the boy who was running away.
This is just the sort of public nuisance I’m talking about, and another example of public annoyance is their use of mobile phones. One of my pet hates is people playing their favourite R&B songs on their mobile phones, on the way home from school, or a trip up town. Do these people think that they’re doing the public a service? What do you think head phones were invented for? Let us not forget the annoying thing, the ‘Crazy Frog’. Have you ever heard such rubbles in your life? Not only is it a popular ring tone but it has been turned into a single and, even worse, it has reached number one. This just show how much power “Chav’s”, and the mobile have over naive children. The marketing of mobile phones is aimed directly at the “Chav” old and young. These people spend a large the amount of money on their phone credit. This must be so costly and what if they’ve been coned into joining a ring tone club, even worse! I’ve seen some companies charge up to £9 a week for three games a week, that’s just under £40 a month. I certainly wouldn’t want to be a parent paying for that child’s phone bill!
Another thing that concerns me is the music. “Chavs” listen to R&B, Hip Hop, Rap and many more styles which contain lyrics generally about sex, drugs and violence in these songs. I ‘m not saying that singing about these subjects is bad, but these songs seem to promote these things. A case for this would be that rapper 50 Cent. He used to be a drug dealer. He’s been shot at nine times, and in his music he seems to say , if you get involved in drugs then you’ll get lots of girls around you, like he does in his videos. This is not true. He’s not a drug dealer, he’s a celebrity. This is getting “Chavs” into drugs, and before they realise that they aren’t going to get any girls they’re hooked, and can’t give them up. The other thing that “Chav’s” music promotes is violence. Using 50 Cent as an example again, his new album art was a picture of him holding a baby in one arm, and a gun in his other hand. Lyrics in the songs are about people being beaten up and guns. Some students from Court Moor and Calthorpe were so influenced by music and games etc, they had the idea of buying ball bearing guns and paintball guns, so they could go around the town shooting people, like myself, who are different to them.
Finally, there’s the inability that “Chav’s” have to use the English language correctly. Most of the words they use have had letters cut of them, and all letter Ts are silent. This basically means it’s rather hard to understand them.
I think that this is enough evidence to show you why Chavs should be banned from Hampshire. What do you think?
