Well since the last Forgotten thread was such a success and there were quite a few story lines left over we decided to start up Forgotten 2 which should rock. Now this is BIO (by invatation only) so if you post in this year and you weret' invited or in the last thread then no one will take your post into account.l With that said let the role play begin.
Laura, Orion and Rondis were sitting in the middle of a park, it was sunny day, only clounds were starting to gather over head. There was a slight tingle in the air, perhaps a thunderstorm was brewing. Even so it was a nice day and people were out and enjoying there lives. "Do you know what I don't get?" Said Laura half way through a sandwhich "What?" Asked Ronids "I'm the daughter of Zeus, shouldn't I get special powers?" She asked "Perhaps you will in time, Hercules didn't develop his power until teenage hood, its possible that you haven't developed yours yet." Said Orion thoughtfully looking up at the sky. "Why do you keep doing that?" Asked Rondis "I careful, Hades isn't the only person looking for Laura, I have a feeling there's more things coming." "Your cheery." Said Ronids sarcastically "Sarcasm..." "Is the tool of evil....I know you said." "Well it is." That was the last they said on the matter and went back to enjoying there sandwhich, yet after Orions warning, they all became a bit more watchful of the sky.

It was much later that evening when the three of them turned in. They were avoiding hotels they'd stayed in before in case they were recognised, so they'd checked into a new one as far away from those they were familiar with as possible. The hotel was called Blue Bay Hotel, built just on the coast in the south of England, and to be on the safe side Orion had suggested that they pose as humans under fake names in case anyone was tracking them. The hotel manager, Mr Langdon, was at the front desk at twenty past eight when they arrived back. "Evening, Mr James," he nodded to Rondis, who was closest. "Weather's turning down a little, isn't it?" "Isn't it just," Rondis replied, smiling. "Um, Mr Langdon..." he lowered his voice. "You haven't had any new arrivals at the hotel, have you?" Mr Langdon smiled. "Now, Peter, you know that's classified information," he said. Rondis had chosen to be the 'talker' of the group and was already on first-name terms with the manager. "I understand," he said with a theatrical sigh. "It's just, Kenny and I are waiting for a friend of ours to turn up. We're hoping he hasn't got lost on the way. He's new to the area and...well, little Alice'd be mighty disappointed if anything happened to him..." Mr Lnagdon raised his eyebrows, but Rondis could see that his story was getting to him. "Well, we can't have little Alice getting worked up," he said kindly, flashing a smile at Laura. "Don't you worry, Mr James. No one new's been in the hotel today. And I'll let you know if anyone does turn up." Rondis shook his hand. "Thanks a lot, George." He turned his back and followed the others upstairs; as they rounded the corner he whispered to Orion, "All clear." Laura went into her room and shut the door, this was the time she hated. When she was alone lying in a bed all the memories of The Underworld would come back to haunt her, she remembered being in the stomach of The Hydra, she remembered the dirt and the grit all over her body, worst of all she remembered the screams, the constant screaming of The Underworld. She could get it out of her mind, it was always there. When she was with people she was fine, but on her own it was terrible.
Orion didn't sleep that night, there was something in the air, he knew it, it had been brewing for a while now. What ever it was it was close and it surprsingly it scared him, he had a grim feeling that what ever was coming would be worse then anything Hades had done.
Rondis lay in his bed, dreaming uneasy dreams. Monsters and demons inhabbted dreams now, he was awoken by the roar of thunder, the strom that had been threatening broke lose, which was very odd conisdering that had not been the first storm that week nor the second.

Orion and Rondis were sharing the room. Orion glanced back at Rondis when he heard him jump slightly. Orion was sitting on a window ledge watching the storm over the sea. His concentration on the thunder was constantly interrupted my Rondis's constant attempts to get comfortable enough to fall asleep again. Eventually Rondis gave up and stood next to Orion as he watched the roaring waves. "Neptune must be close" Orion said quietly "Don't you mean Poseidon?" Rondis replied "Same god, different name like Zeus is also called Jupiter" "Is Neptune coming or just passing?" "Hard to tell at the moment...How familiar are you with Poseidon?" "God of the seas and oceans" "Poseidon or Neptune or what ever he's been called is the brother of Zeus and Hades. When they deposed their father Chronos he took over the seas and oceans. He's and unpredicatable person and violent quite often. He's also the god of earthquakes somehow" Orion smirked and continued all the while thunder went off occasionally "He's also the father of Pegasus, who's mother is Medusa. Being Zeus's brother makes him Lauras uncle...He might be coming to see her" "How does he know we're here?" "He's a god. He knows these things but he could also be coming to see me" The thunder clapped again. "Why would he come to see you?" "He's my father, I am also a child of a god well I'm a demi-god actually. Yeah" he sighed "He gets around alot too well used to. I could name all my brothers and sisters if I wanted" "I need to be bored right now so I can sleep" Rondis yawned returning to bed" "Well theres, Theseus, Hippothoon, Rhode, Triton, Nauplius, Ancaeus, Eurypylos, Aloeus, Eumolpus, Poricylmenus" Orion was interrupted by a quiet snore from Rondis and Orion returned to his deep concentration of his past. Orion's voice drifted over Rondis and followed him into dreams of Gods and Demons, and the dark sky and blood-red river of the Underworld. Despite their victory something about this recurring dream made Rondis feel uneasy even after the dream had passed. Each night they crossed the crimson river again; each night he saw the Hydra, Laura and Orion lying dead, the Harpies tearing at their flesh and Hades standing over them, drinking their blood from a silver chalice. Each night Rondis would wake in terror to find himself back in the Hotel room; Orion would be sleeping peacefully beside him in whatever dreams haunted him, and on some nights he'd even go to check on Laura, who'd also be lost in slumber. It was pointless, paranoid worrying, he'd think as he lay down again, but even in daytime he couldn't shake off the feeling that it wasn't over.

Rondis woke up with a start as thunder clapped loudly outside. a flash of lightning lit up the room for a split second and revealed a dark figure sitting on the armchair, green eyes staring at him. It took him a second to remember when and where he had seen those green eyes. THe memory bounced back into his head and he screamed, waking Orion who immediately grabbed his crossbow from under his pillow and starting pointing it at random directions. "What?! Where?!" Orion shouted in confusion, his eyes still half open. Rondis stared at him, then at his cross bow. "You keep that thing under your pillow?" he asked. "Yes..." Orion replied. The lamp by the armchair lit up, and to their horror they saw Arissa sitting on the chair, slowly fiddling with her nail. Orion pointed his crossbow at her. "Oh please" she looked up. "As if you can kill me with that" "I can try" he said "You'll just miss, then I would sing and you two will be powerless" "Why are you here? What do you want? I thought Hades got rid of you ages ago" Rondis said. "Hades might have turned into less of a monster, but he would have no right to destroy us. There has to be a balance of good and evil in this world." Arissa explained. "We were sent back to our island." "So, why are you here?" Orion demanded "Can't you see?" Arissa pointed at the sky. "Stormy night eh? Or should I say, nights. I had some trouble flying all the way here." "get to the point" Rondis said "In case you haven't noticed, the weather has been getting worse day after day, night after night. And you know what's causing it? The Gods. Something is going on up there, and we don't know what. But something awful is, they must have fallen out with each other and now they are arguing, sometimes fighting. There's tension, chaos, and if it doesn't get sorted out, the war between the gods will happen." "we stopped that war, ages ago" Rondis said "The war doesn't have to be between good and evil. It could be between good and good. And that's what happening right now, up there" Arissa said. "When this war breaks out, the whole world will suffer under the effects of it, fireballs will fall from the skies, humans will die, and so will we." "What are the other Gods doing?" Orion asked, still pointing his crossbow at her. "THe others? You mean, evil ones? They don't care. In fact, they want this to happen. When it does, they will just sit back and eat popcorn as they watch the world get ripped apart. THey enjoy it. The war wouldn't affect them." "So there's nothing we can do? We'll just die?" "That's why I'm here." arissa said. "normally I wouldn't come to you lot for help, but if we don't do something, we will all die: you, me, Laura..." "What can we do though?" Rondis asked "Not us. Laura. It's time for her to visit her dad"

""I'm not so sure thats a good idea, especially if the Gods are in the middle of a war. Zeus may not be to pleased to see her." Said Rodis "Oh, but she can talk to him, Zeus doesn't lissten to many people, he can be so stubborn." Said Arissa. "Well I don't see what good us going there will do, we don't even know what the war is about." Argued Rondis "Hmm, I think we may want to ask Laura, after all it is her who will be talking to him." Said Orion "Fine, but wait until the morning , I doubt that any of us are thinking straight at the moment." Replied Rondis "Good idea, now Arissa get the hell out of my room." Said Orion coldly. "Say please." She smirked, Orion fired an arrow at her, she moved out the way. "Fine, but I think we made need each other, you can't do this without me, ttfn." Bitch" Growled Orion as he watched Arissa leave.
Meanwhile three women sat around a couldren, they looked into its thick inky substance. They were in a small shed, it was dark and damp, lit only with candles. Spiders scuttled across the celing. The room had numerous cages in, some had odd looking animals and some had nothing but grey mist in. In some of the cages there were a shrunken version of a person, all of them were sobbing and begging the women for freedom. A slow knocking echoed around the shed. "Could you get that dearie?" Asked one of the women, she was old and warty. Her nose seemed to be about as long as her entire face, she had grey eyes, that were misted over with age and confusion. "Of course I can honey, your far to old to be getting up." Said another women, her voice was sweet and kind, she had long brown hair, that shone beutifully in the candle light. She wore a tight green dress. She walked over to the door and smiled when she saw who was standing or more appropiatley floating outside it. It was the old Hades, but he was no longer solid, he seemed much more like a mist, his body was being blown around by the wind. "Hades, its been an age, you don't look well." Giggled the woman "No, I don't suppose I do...I don't have long, soon I will be completley erased from this world." He whispered, his voice was weak, it broke up half way through the sentence. "So what is it that bring you to our house?" She asked "I come, I come because I yearn for vegance." "Against who?" "Laura, the one who killed me." "Ah yes, one of Zeus's daughter, it is a blood debt, we will get vegance for you." "Thank you Kindly Ones." Said Hades he went to leave. The young women smiled slightly "No, we're no longer The Kindly Ones, until Laura is dead, we're The Furies."

Orion woke Rondis far too early for his liking. "Get up," he said simply. "I'm going to talk to Laura. See if you can arrange us some breakfast." Rondis rolled over and tried to get back to sleep, then remembered the encounter in the middle of the night. He groaned and dragged himself out of bed. Rain was still hammering down on the window, and looking out he noticed that the street below was flooded. Absetly trying to tidy his hair, he left the room and headed for the stairs to find Mr Langdon.
"Laura?" Orion knocked gently on the door. "Are you awake?" Laura opened the door for him. "Morning, Orion. Have you seen the weather? It's like the wet apocalypse. Are you okay?" she added, noticing his expression. Orion sighed. "We need to talk."
Rondis found Mr Langdon at the front desk, looking worried and nervous. "Morning, George," he said, trying to sound pleasant. "Look, I know I said we'd probably be out of here by now but we may have to stick around for another few days...waiting for our friend and all...Are you okay?" Mr Langdon blinked several times before even seeming to notice Rondis was there. "Oh...Mr James...It's just..." He shook his head, pulling himself together. "Yes, of course that's okay." "Is everything alright?" Rondis asked slowly. "It's the weather," Langdon said at length. "It's been raining constantly for nearly three days now. The whole of Main Street is underwater. We haven't had supplies in for a week. No one can get to the hotel on account of the road being flooded." "Terrible, isn't it," Rondis said, trying to sound offhand. "Well, I don't know, maybe we will be off sooner than we thought..." "I'm sorry, Mr James," Langdon said, "but there's no way out of the hotel." "What?" "We're completely flooded in. We can't get out, unless you want to get wet. Very wet." Rondis was silent for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Okay then," he said. "We can stay."
Laura sat in silence as Orion related the whole story to her. Eventually she nodded slowly. "I've always been afraid of something like this happening," she said. "Ever since I learned about the Gods and that they were all real. It always seemed so likely." "Arissa reckons the only way to stop this is for you to talk to Zeus," Orion said heavily. Laura looked nervous. "I don't know," she said. "It could be dangerous, and this is Arissa talking. Maybe it's a trap." Before Orion could answer, the door opened and Rondis let himself in. "Hope you guys like swimming," he said shortly.

"Why?" Asked Orion "The whole place is flooded in, there's no way out." Sighed Rondis "Ah, this makes things harder then expected." "Yes, I suppose it does." "Okay, I have an idea." Said Orion thoughtfully "What is it?" "I'm going to see my father." Groaned Orion, his face dropped and he looked scared of the prospect. "Really? How are you going to get to him?" "I'm going to drown myself." Said Orion.
Later on that day Orion left for the sea, he had explained the plan in full. Poseidon refused to leave the sea, not matter what the circimstances were. He was one of the few Gods that didn't live in Mount Olympis (sp) and he would only see people if they were close to death. Inside the hotel Laura and Rondis waited nervously, the made casual conversation. There was something odd in the hotel that day something seemed out of balance. Every now and again Laura was sure she heard someone whispering behind her but there was no one there.
Orion slowly started to swim out in the roaring ocean, the tides hit him and beat him about, it was cold and he was already close to giving up, yeat he kept swimming until it all became to much and he sunk. It seemed like an eternity before he passed the darkness surrounded him. His last concous thoughts were "What if he doesn't save me" Fortunately these were put to rest. He woke up in the sea, yet he could breath and talk, it no longer seemed cold but warm and plesant. "Orion, my son. Why do you visit me?" Asked Neptune. He was half fish half man. His beard was long and grey, his face was stern and his brown eyes were strict and angry. His upper body was muscular, one could almost see the strength bounding through it. "I wish to go to mount olympis, yet you have flooded the gate. Me and my freinds wish for passage."
Just in case anyone wondered The Furies that I reffered to are a primal force that get anyone who killed a member of there own blood line to kill themselves.

Neptune regarded his son silently. "It is not my business to solve the problems of Olympus." "But it is your doing that is holding us back!" Orion said. "Why have you taken part in this ridiculous fighting?" "Because Zeus is a back-stabbing fool," Neptune snapped. "Because he betrayed me from my rights and because he refuses to acknowledge me." "What do you mean?" "Zeus promised me complete control over the seas of the human world, and he has taken that away from me. He is angry at the Gods so he is trying to reclaim the world for his own, so he has robbed me of what is mine. I will settle the waters when he returns it." "My friends and I are going to stop this!" Orion said. "We are going to Olympus to stop Zeus and set things right. You have to let us through, and we'll get Zeus to put everything the way it was again. Please, you have to help us!"

"You do know" a voice said behind Laura and Rondis. "I could've flown you guys out of here" They turned around to see Arissa. "Like I trust you" Laura said. "You might just decide to let go in mid air and let us fall" "Ohh, tempting" Arissa laughed. "What do you want?" Rondis demanded. "I already told you my plan" "Or trap" Laura stared at her. "It's not a trap" Arissa said. "YOu go and talk to your father, if he doesn't want to kill his own daughter then this chaos will stop. Where's Orion?" "Drowning himself" Rondis replied. "Why is it that whenever we want to visit a God someone has to die or come close to death" "Sweet" said Arissa. She made herself comfortable on a couch and looked out of the window. Laura turned around again, but saw nobody. There was a constant buzzing noise in her head, and it felt like someone was whispering in her ear. The first signs of insanity, she thought to herself, great, things just get better and better

Rondis and Laura kept watching out of the window at the water that had reached the top of the ground floor doors and was still rising. How would they know if Neptune gave in to Orion's suggestion? What if he just killed him and they never saw him again? "THERE!" Laura suddenly yelled, making both Rondis and Arissa jump. She pointed wildly out of the window where, in the distance, they could see Orion in the water. Where he had come from neither of them could say, but there he was, and he wasn't moving. "What did you expect?" Arissa said. "He nearly drowned himself. He was fine in the actual parleying, but now he's back to his good old half-drowned self." Rondis turned to Laura. "Stay here," he said. "Don't leave the room, and you--" He turned to Arissa, "--Don't come anywhere near her." With that he pushed the window as far open as it would go, leapt up onto the windowsil and dived into the water. "Rondis, no!" cried Laura, but he was already too far from the window. Rondis swam as fast as he could towards Orion; the water was icy cold and rough and the current strong but slowly Orion seemed to come closer and closer, until finally Rondis reached out and seized his arm. He dragged Orion towards him, rolled him onto his back and, without waiting to check him over, began swimming one-handed as fast as he could back towards the window. It seemed to take forever, but finally Laura caught hold of his hand and together they hauled Orion into the room. Laura laid Orion on the ground and quickly checked to see if he was still breathing. Rondis sat up against the wall catching his breath, completely soaked. "He's alive," Laura said presently, watching Orion's face with terrified eyes. As she spoke Orion stirred then his eyes snapped open, and he pushed himself onto his side, coughing and spluttering. "Orion, are you okay?"

He coughed and choked a couple of times, and then replied. "Ye-yes." His voice was shakey and he couldn't stop shivering. He went onto say "Neptune promised to build us a boat that could take us to Mount Olympis... we have to go out into the sea in two days in order to get it." Said Orion "I'm coming." Said Arissa slowly, they all looked round in surprise "No, no your not." Replied Rondis "Yes, yes I am. I'm probably stronger then all of you and I don't fancy waiting to see what happens if you fail, which seeing your plan to get out there you almost certainly will." Replied Arissa "No, your evil." "So...doesn't mean I'm going to do bad things." "Yes it does, thats what evil is." Laura needed to toilet and got tired of the bickering, she wondred of. The toilets were odd, they were much colder then usual and there wasn't a light switch. "Hello my poppet." Said a woman, her voice was frail and old, even so Laura's stomach sunk. "Hi, who are you?" She asked slightly timidly "I am one of three and three of one." "Right, thats nice. Why are you in a toilet?" "I'm not in a toilet and neither are you anymore." A shiver run down Laura's back, she could feel something climbing up her leg "Consider this a warning, next time we meet someone dies." Said the woman. Suddenly the thing climbing up her leg bit her. The pain was beyond intense, she cried out in pain. "Oh, and your not so pretty anymore are you my dear." The voice dissapereard and Orion and Rondis run into the room. They gasped in horror when they saw what Laura had become...

..unbelievably pale and down her leg a small stream of blood poured out of cut which went the whole way round her thigh. "What happened?" Rondis shouted "It...it claimed that it was...one of three and three of one or something like that" She collapsed and slid down the wall crying.

Rondis caught Laura as she sank to her knees, tears streaming down her face. He looked up at Orion and Arissa, panicking. "Three of what and what?" he repeated, alarmed. "One of three and three of one," Arissa said quickly. "The Kindly Ones. We always knew this would happen." "What the heck?" Rondis asked, staring nervously between Arissa and Laura. "What are you talking about?" Orion demanded. "The Kindly Ones," Arissa said. "We always knew that one day they'd outlive that title. That one day they'd become...the Furies." "What the heck?" Rondis said again, totally confused. "Let's get out of here," Orion said quickly. "You," he added to Arissa, "are going to explain exactly what the hell's going on." Rondis helped Laura to her feet; she practically collapsed against him, weak, scared and crying her eyes out. Rondis gave up and lifted her into his arm; Laura put her arms around his neck, holding on to him tightly like a scared child. Alarmed himself. Rondis hurried after them. "What's going on?" he asked. "Laura...what's happened to her?" "She's been bitten," Arissa said simply, as though this explained it all. "The toxins cause immense pain, fear, confusion...to begin with..." "What toxins?" Orion demanded. "What has she been bitten by?"

"Oh, a snake. Not any snake though, you see this was a snake made by The Kindly Ones or The Furies or whatever they want to call themselves, as said at first the the affects don't seem to serious. But they worsen over time, the affects vary depending on the person. I've seen someone become covered in boils, they got so bad that they couldn't touch anything because the pain was so intense. But as said the affects vary." Laura whimpered and Rondis shook his head in despair. "Is there anyway to stop this?" Asked Orion "Oh, well its said the affects are stopped when The Kindly Ones are killed." Replied Arissa "We've killed a God before it can't be that hard to kill them." Said Rondis thoughtfully. At this Arissa let out a shreek of laughter, it was high and cold. "You think that The Kindly Ones are as easy to kill as a God?! They are primal, they are eternal. Gods come and go, they stay. Gods whimper under there might, you will not be able to kill them...sorry." She smiled "How can you be smiling?" Asked Rondis "I'm evil, you said it yourself, I'm glad I met you three. You have to stop a war between the Gods and you've got The Kindly Ones after you. Things should get intresting." Arissa laughed

Rondis thought he would have hit Arissa if he hadn't been holding Laura. To save himself doing something he'd regret he muttered his excuses to Orion and headed back to their hotel room. Orion and Arissa were left staring each other down in the corridor. "Who's side are you on?" Orion abruptly demanded. "Side? Why yours, of course. I don't want the world destroyed. Yes, I'm absolutely behind you in this whole war-stopping deal." Orion nodded, then grabbed Arissa by the collar, slamming her against the wall. "Then you can start taking this a little more seriously," he growled. "This isn't interesting. If you're on our side then you'll help us and you'll take as much care of us as you would yourself." Arissa smiled uncertainly. "Or what?" Orion's hand purposefully strayed to his dagger hilt. "Or I'll make you regret it."
Rondis kicked the door shut and laid Laura down on the bed. Her eyes were closed, and she was moaning in distress. Rondis tried to make her comfortable but he didn't know what to do. "Please, Laura, it's gonna be okay," he said, though he wasn't sure she could hear him. "Don't you worry, your Rondis is gonna get you to Mount Olympus. You'll see. Orion's gonna kick those damned gates right in and I'll carry you to your father if I have to. Don't you worry, we'll show them what happens when they mess with us."

Orion and Arissa entered the room. "So," Arissa said "Do we save the world from destruction first or save a little girl who's about to get some nasty boils on her face?" Orion stared at her angrily. "We save Laura first" Rondis said. "Oh, of course" Arissa replied "The world can wait" "Look, the only reason you want us to save the world first is because if we don't, then you will die. Laura is in huge pain right now!" Orion shouted at her. "Have you got no sympathy?! Stop being so selfish!" "Well, being what I am" she said "I can't really feel sympathy or love or care etc." "Then just shut up and stop getting us depressed!" "Sorry" Arissa smiled. Orion stared at her. "You didn't mean that, did you?" "Nope." "Arissa" Rondis interrupted. "Just tell us, where can we find the Furies?" "See, I don't think it's a good idea to go and find them. You'll just get yourselves killed. They'll most likely come and find you" "We're running out of time right now so we can't just sit around waiting for them to visit us" Rondis said. "I still think we should go to Mount Olympus first" Arissa said. "I'm serious. If we waste our time searching for the Furies the whole world will die, including us! Maybe Zeus can help us after we stop the war, and look at Laura - she's not fit enough to even walk, let alone kill the Furies." "Scary" Rondis said "But you have a point. However, if we stop the war, it'll be too late to save Laura." "We need to be in two places at once" Orion said.

"Well, there are three of us," Arissa said, seeming to be enjoying herself. "Just split up. Orion can go kick some Fury ass, Rondis can carry his dearly beloved up to Mount Olympus, and I'll sit on the sideline with a stopwatch." "You watch your mouth!" shouted Orion. "Um," Rondis said. Orion turned to him. "She has a point." "About the stopwatch?" "No, about splitting up. Laura and I could go straight to Zeus and you and Arissa to the Furies--" "I'm not going anywhere near them," Arissa declared. "I'm not going anywhere at all with her," Orion said at pretty much the same time. "Oh, come on!" cried Rondis. "Do you want Laura to die, Orion? We don't have a choice!"

At that given moment Laura let out a cry in pain. "Both of you please, she's only getting worse. We know she doesn't have long." Said Rondis starting to lose his temper "Well, why doesn't Arissa go with you, I don't need any help." Said Orion "Because I know how to get to Mount Olympis, you haven't a clue how to get to The Furies, you'll end up wondering around pointlessly." "Don't I get a say in this?" Asked Arissa "NO!" They shounted together "Fine, she can come...if you say one word out of place I will kill you." Said Orion looking at Arissa, his eyes glaring angrily "I'm not going with you, besides I wouldn't be to confident leaving Laura alone with Rondis, you never know what sort of things he'll get up to with her...in such a weakened posistion." "Whats that meant to mean?!" "You know, I'm the only one who sees it." There was a moment of silence, Orions eyes moved from Rondis to Laura, there was no way that Rondis felt anything towards her, she was so much younger then he was. It was impossible...or was it. "Your sick." Said Rondis quickly his eyes darted away from Orions, no one noticed. "Humph, I'm sick of this, Arissa your coming with me. If things get to bad you can leave. We'll leave tommrow" Said Orion

[glow=red,2,300]Hehehe I'm glad someone brought that subject up before me [/glow] Too edgy to leave one another now the four of them spent the night in Laura's room, catching whatever sleep they could. The rain still lashed at the windows but its mournful sound was now nothing to Laura's occasional moans of discomfort that sounded, at times, more fearful than in pain. Orion was still awake when Rondis, thinking the others were asleep, moved to sit on the edge of Laura's bed, holding her hand and whispering comfort to her as though his words could break the barrier that had suddenly appeared between them. Orion watched thoughtfully...was it possible for anything to have built between Rondis and Laura? He'd never even considered it before, because it had never caught his attention before, but now he considered it, he didn't know how long they had known one another before he'd joined them, or, really, how well they knew each other. But, he thought, he'd never noticed it before. Maybe it was just the combined fear and his annoyance at Arissa that was making him think these things. Settling down again he tried to sleep.

After long night the sun finally rose, not that it made much difference it was covered by the dark and angry clounds. Other then Laura, Rondis looked the worst of them all, his eyes were bloodshot, it seemed as though he hadn't got any sleep all night. Lauras condition had worsened over the night. There was no colour in her cheeks and her hair had started to fall out in large clumps. When Orion got up he eyed Rondis wearily, he looked into his eyes checking for hint of something other then friendship. He didn't know if he could catch it or not. He was in such a bad mood with everything his mind was working over time anyway. "Arissa, since Rondis is using the boat, I need you to give me a lift over the water." Said Orion "And tell me why I should?" Asked Arissa "Because if you don't you won't have long to live." "I don't have long to live anyway dumbass." She replied moodily "Well you won't live past today." She laughed to herself but agreed to it. They stepped outside the water came past there shings. "Good luck, Orion, please hurry." Said Rondis looking at Laura, there were now bald patches all over her head and her skin was becoming cold to touch. "I will." Said Orion, he didn't want to leave not now, but he couldn't see that he had much choice. He lead Rondis and Laura to the place Neptune said the boat would be. To there great shock it wasn't a boat, it was sea serpent. Its eyes were narrow and green, it had two humps on its massive scaly back. "I climb in my mouth and I will take you to mount Olympis." It said, they all looked shocked when the words came out of its mouth. Slowly its jaw decended and catiously Rondis climbed in holding Laura on his shoulder. Orion and Arissa watched the the sea creature dive underwater. They stood silent for a while. "Well, its going to be a long couple of months." Sighed Arissa, she hooked her arms under Orions shoulders and took flight.

"So where can we find the Furies?" Orion asked "They live in a shed" Arissa replied "It's well hidden, so we need to look carefully" Orion looked at the land and treetops beneath him. "Afraid of heights?" Arissa grinned. "No" "Well you wouldn't mind this then!" She soared several metres up towards the sky and did a backward somersault. "You stop that or else I'll puke all over your feet!" Orion shouted. "Pay attention! We need to save Laura."

Rondis had piled all of their possessions into the little boat tied up outside the hotel. The water level had just about risen to the height of their hotelroom window, making things all that much easier. Before they left, however, there was something he felt he had to do. Tucking Laura safely into her bed one last time he locked the door and headed downstairs. Coming to the ground floor his feet splashed into knee-deep water. The carefully barricaded doors were steadily letting in the flow of water. The foyer was deserted, but in the dining room what had to be all of the residents staying in the hotel bar himself and the others were crouched around and upon tables, some of them crying, panicking, a few even praying. Mr Langdon was standing on the foyer table that he'd dragged in talking in what Rondis assumed had begun as a loud voice, which had dwindled to nothing more than a sobbing, desperate tone that betrayed just how terrified he was. Rondis hesitated, wondering if now was the time to tell Mr Langdon that they were checking out, when a loud creaking noise drew his attention to the door. Langdon and the other guests turned slowly to the main doors, where the water forcing its way through the edges was increasing in force. Taking his leave, Rondis leapt up and darted up the stairs just as the doors gave way and water crashed into the hotel. Guests and hosts alike screamed and cried, but a second later the force of the water had knocked what breath they had summoned from their chests, and by the time Rondis had reached the top floor again all that could be heard was the thundering water. Pausing at the top he retreated back down again to where the water was slowly rising and peered through the banisters. The entire foyer and restaurant was now underwater, and little if anything at all could now be made out in the churning water. Rondis smiled. "Thanks for the hospitality, Mr Langdon; apologies that my friends and I are checking out slightly earlier than planned. Keep up the good work," he added, casting his hotel room keys into the water.

Meanwhile, up in the sky, Orion was getting tired and sick. "Will you stop trying to make me throw up?!" he shouted. "Let me think...no!" Just then, they looked down and saw an army of bats flying up towards them, each one the size of a car, black wings flapping violently and their yellow eyes full of greed. "What the hell are those?!" Orion shouted. "The Furies' pets" Arissa replied. "They saw us coming!" Orion pulled out his bow and arrows, and tried to shoot as many as he can. He felt himself slip off her arms and screamed as he fell, but one of the bats caught him, bit his shoulder and he fell unconscious as the poison spread through his body.
Orion woke up and found himself tied to a chair. Arissa was standing in front of him, then 3 old women appeared from behind her. "Watch out!" Orion warned, but Arissa simply smiled. "Good job Arissa" one of the Furies said, patting Arissa's shoulder. "What..." Orion was lost for words. "I'm evil" Arissa said "And always had been. I don't know what you guys were doing, trusting me. But oh well, I'm not complaining, for me it worked out fine." "You wanted to live!!" Orion shouted. "You wanted to stop the world from dying! What is all this about?! Are the Gods even arguing?!" "Oh they are" Arissa replied. "And you're right, I do want to stop the world from dying. That's the only truth I've ever said to you guys. See, when I realised there's a war about to break out, I knew one of the only ways to stop this was to make someone the Goddess of Peace. Zeus would never stop a war, no matter how much his little daughter persuaded him. But he would save his daughter's life. I came to the Furies, asked them to make Laura ill, so when she reached Mount Olympus, Zeus would have 2 choices - make Laura a Goddess, or watch her die slowly from the Furies' poison. Once Laura is made the Goddess of peace, the war would end, I would live, and...well, I don't really care what happens to you and Rondis. I don't need you anymore, you were simply my stepping stones." "You..." Orion wanted to rip her eyes out. "So all this time, you were tricking us, shaping us so we would fit into your evil plot...every action we made was all going to end up like this." "Pretty much" Arissa said. "Hang on" one of the furies said. "You came to us saying you wanted Laura dead..." "Yes, and in return I will bring you one of her friends. That was the deal," Arissa replied. "I knew that the old Hades had come to you, asking you to kill Laura, so if I told you three that Laura might have a chance to become a Goddess and live, you would never have done it. Sorry hags, I tricked you too. You should all learn a lesson - never trust anyone" "She tricked us..." one of the Furies said to the other. "We promised Hades Laura'll die, but now she might be able to live..." "Fooled you" Arissa said "But hey! You have one more soul to torment with" She pointed at the faces of people screaming in pain and begging the Furies for freedom. "See that Orion, you'll be joining them soon. Have fun! and I'll just hope Rondis makes it to Mount Olympus in time, if not, oh well, at least I tried. Goodbye now" Arissa flew out of the window and disappeared. The Furies turned to Orion, grinning.

Rondis realised something that he should have mentioned to Orion in the early stages of this plan: he'd never been to sea before. It's a bit too late to mention that now, he thought savagely, hauling on the oars of the tiny boat as the waves threw it back and forth, every moment afraid of letting go of the oars, watching Laura tumble out or being tossed out himself. The further they went the more violent the water became. The rain had only just began but he and Laura were both drenched from the waves and the surf, and for the first time Rondis was becoming scared. Hadn't Orion settled the storm with Posidon? What was going on now?Had the argument above reached so out of control that even Posidon had no control over the weather? Did even the Gods of fire have no control of flames, the Gods of wind no control of the air? What if Zeus couldn't control the Gods themselves? Laura was lying in the bottom of the boat, curled and groaning. Rondis could have managed if she'd been unconscious, but lying as she was in pain and discomfort made everything ten times harder. Hesitently letting go of his oars he staggered forward and grabbed some rope, securing it to Laura's belt and then to the prow of the boat, terrified that they'd both be thrown into the water. Clambouring back to his seat he checked the compass he'd fastened to the side of the boat. Row due north, he'd been told, and sooner or later he'd end up at the path to the mountain. And what kind of path would that be? The Mountain? Some kind of challenge before he was permitted to face the Gods? Would they be too busy fighting to stop him, or would be be challenged? Surely the land of the Gods wouldn't be left unguarded? Feeling sick, and not only from the rocking of the boat, he clenched his freezing fists around the oars and forced himself to row on.
EDIT: It seemed like hours later when Rondis saw shapes looming in the shadowy darkness. The hotel he guessed would be completely underwater by now, so he assumed whatever he could see was higher than the three-storey building. Drenched and shivering painfully, any sign of what could have been land seemed welcoming, and he rowed harder towards them. As he inched closer he decided that it was mountainous cliffs he could see jutting out of the raging waters, and he began to wonder if it had been a good idea to come this close while the sea was still so rough. Supposing they ran aground? Supposing inhabitants of this place didn't welcome him? Supposing-- Before any other terrifying, paranoid thoughts could cross his mind, a high wave crashed into the back of the boat, sending it flying up and crashing back into the water. Rondis was thrown forward, both oars jolted from his hands. He struggled to sit up again, shaking his hair from his eyes, just in time to see a second great tide of black water rear up above him like an angry stallion. Rondis could see the breaking wave shattering like glass, then plummetting down towards them. So close to the shore, as well... SMASH! The force of the water knocked Rondis' awareness from him as the timbers of the boat shattered and he and Laura were cast into the water.

Meanwhile Orion struggled against The Furies rope, they felt different from regular ropes, they were cutting into him, burning his skin to shards. The three women looked at him slowly. "We could kill you." One of them said "We could burn you" "W could torture you." It was as if they were all talking at once. "But, we don't want to. We swore to kill everyone Laura cared about, which includes you. But we need you." They said "Why?" Spat Orion as the ropes burnt his wrists "Why, because Arissa tricked us, we're willing to bargain." They said "Go on." Said Orion slowly "We'll spare your life and Laura's friends lives...not hers. If you hund down Arissa and kill her, I mean after all you are legendery for doing that." Said The Furies laughing slightly "You don't have long to kill Laura, there almost at the moutain, if Arissa's right she'll be a God before long." Replied Orion thinking through the deal. they shrieked with laughter and started to un tie Orion.

The next thing Rondis was aware of was a sharp pain against his left leg before he realised that he couldn't breathe. Kicking upwards for all he was worth he forced his way to the surface and finally splashed into the air, gasping desperately for breath. The water around him was clouded in crimson, and for a moment he couldn't work out what had happened. Then he spotted a shard of wood floating nearby, and then the remains of the boat bobbing precariously some distance away. Another wave tore through it, breaking the little contraption in two. Rondis floundered to turn around, searching desperately for Laura. Turning himself he found himself a lot closer to the shore than he'd remembered, and remembered the pain in his leg; he must have hit the rocks, thus explaining the blood billowing out into the water. Shaking his sodden hair from his eyes he began to swim to the shore until he was able to drag himself through the sharp rocks and onto dry land. He crawled up a few feet from the water then staggered to his feet, turning back to look for Laura. For a moment he couldn't see her, then to his relief he spotted her lying sprawled half in the water, caught on the rocks, her head thankfully on the shore. Almost loosing his balance for his racing head and drenched clothes weighing him down, he forced himself to balance as he ran over the uneven, slippery surface and seized Laura's arm. After what seemed like hours he'd dragged Laura and himself far enough away from the water to feel safe. For as long as he dared, Rondis lay on the rocks staring up at the clouded sky, rain still falling onto his face but more gently now, as though it was easing off. He imagined it would return just as strong later. When he finally found his strength again he pushed himself up and crawled over to Laura. She was somehow still breathing, still unconscious but still alive. Warmth was the priority now, Rondis thought, warmth and shelter and transport. He had no idea whether he was at the foot of Mount Olympus or in some totally different place, but he had already noticed that the water level had risen since he'd turned his back, and if they stayed where they were they'd be underwater again within minutes. Dragging himself to his feet he took Laura by the arms and hauled her upright, cradling her in his arms. A few steps later he staggered under her weight, his tiredness and the rough surface underfoot nearly sending him to his knees. Acutely aware of the frustrated sweat and tears mingling with the rain and seawater on his face, he tried to ignore the pain in his leg and his own exhaustion. If I keep walking, he thought, I'll find shelter and we can rest. Determined, scared, shattered and unhappy, he started to walk.

Somewhere far away, Arissa wondered through the air. She was in danger, and she knew it, the Furies will have revenge. She gave herself two choices: one was to return back to Bayle Island where she'll be safer, the other choice was to remain where she was. "My job here is done" she muttered to herself. "I came out to save my life, and I've tried my best. There's nothing further I can do. I can't go to Mount Olympus, the Gods will forbid that. All I can do is wait and see if Rondis and Laura have made it." She looked up at the sky - grey clouds had blocked out the sun and rain was constantly falling down on her. THe job is not done, she told herself, contradicting what she had just said. SHe had come out to stop the war, and looking at the weather, it was definitely not stopped. But she didn't know what else to do. She desperately wanted to go home, but she kept telling herself she can't, not yet. Looking down, she saw her reflection in the water. Her white gown was soaked and parts were covered in mud, her long brown hair tangled and her sparkling green eyes was suddenly full of fear. The furies will kill her, just like the way they are killing Laura right now. She shivered at the thought of having boils appearing all over her pale skin, the pain she'll be in, the loss of strength and energy, feeling tired, achy and wishing to die. That wasn't the only thing she was afraid of right now. She had kept a secret from everyone, a secret she was terrified to say out loud, that when the old Hades died and the new one came, he had sent all the sirens back to Bayle Island, and cursed them that whoever leaves the island will lose their strongest power.....their ability to sing......They will be silent until they returned back to the island. All this time, Arissa had been vulnerable, Orion could've killed her with one arrow, but her lies had got her so far. Just when she didn't know which step to take next, the old Hades appeared in front of her, transparent, floating and weak. "Thought you died" she said "Not yet...but I'm about to" his voice quivered "as if I care" "Oh you will, Arissa" She looked at him. "WHat do you mean?" "I want Laura and her no good friends dead! DEAD!!!" Although he was screaming in fury, his voice was no louder than a whisper. "And you, Arissa, shall kill them" "No way" she replied "Like I dont want to live" "THen I shall do it myself" Saying that, he jumped towards her and disappeared. Arissa looked around but couldn't see anything. "Where did you go?" she heard herself say, then her eyes blackened, her mouth opened, but the low pitched voice which came out was not hers "I'm here" Hades said. "Inside you..."

[glow=red,2,300]"The Plot Thinkens" doesn't cover it...lol[/glow] By midnight the rain had redoubled, positively hammering down on the stone above Rondis' head, and the wind was strengthening as the minutes passed by. It could have taken minutes, hours, even days to get from the shore to his shelter, he really had no idea. He'd carried Laura to a little hollow in the steep, cliff-like mountainside where they were now hiding from the rain. Now he was sitting with his knees drawn up to his chest feeling ill and miserable and staring at where Laura was lying nearby. There was no sign on her skin of the boils Arissa had spoken of, but around her hands, wrists and neck her skin was becoming sore and red, and on her face her skin seemed old and stretched; her body was freezing and Rondis had wrapped her in both her and his cloaks, but though she seemed in every way unconscious, she was stirring restlessly in her tortured dreams, moaning and crying and, every now and then, speaking his and Orion's names. All of a sudden the wind changed direction, blowing full force into his face, and in an instant what of his clothes that had dried were drenched again. Rondis sighed, reaching up to pull his hood on then remembering that he'd taken off his cloak. Instead he stood up and moved over to Laura. She had fallen still finally, and she looked tired and sick. Rondis felt like crying; having come so far, now alone, was too much, and to see Laura like this made everything worse. He gently pulled Laura's cloak back over her then sat down between her and the wind, taking her icy hand in his. "Can you hear me, Laura?" he whispered. For once, when he desperately wanted to see a sign of life, Laura lay still and silent. Rondis sighed. "I don't know. I hope you can, Laura, because then maybe I'm not as alone as I feel." He paused, then went on: "I wish Orion was here, you know. I know we never really got on that well, but I miss him so much. I was so fond of him, Laura, in a strange way. I know he was irritating sometimes and I don't think he feels much different than I do, but something about him...he's loyal, and trustworthy, and damn it, he's a friend, and the Gods know I need one. Or maybe they don't, Laura. If the Gods knew they'd help me. They'd know how much you need help and how much I can't help you. Damn, I'm trying, Laura, but I don't know what to do. I'm lost. I'm exhausted. You're in pain, scared, dying for all I know, and all I can do is stumble around in the darkness." Abruptly he broke down. "I'm so sorry, Laura, if any of this is my fault. I feel like I should have helped you more. Protected you. I don't want you to die, Laura, because I couldn't stand living without you anymore. There was something missing in my life and since I met you and Orion it's been filled. I thought it was just the excitement of adventuring with you, but it's more than that, and I was to damned short-sighted to see it until now. You can't die, Laura. I need you. It wasn't anything about what we did before, or Orion, or anything else. It was you. I need you, Laura, because I love you." [glow=red,2,300]There, I said it [/glow]
