Right I'm going to make a roleplay and try to actually post things in it, since my track record for doing that is spotty at best. Anyway here goes.
The backstory is that this year is the year of the forgot, which basically means that every mythical creture that has ever been spoken about has now come to life and lives in this world, however they all have knoledge about how this world works. Basically you can pick what mythical creture you wish to be or you can be a human. Don't try and be someone such a Zues or Thor or this is going to become ridclious.
Name: Laura Zeo Sex: Female Appearance: Has shimmering blue/green eyes with a slight yellow tinge going around the pupil. Has long shiny brown hair that she occasionaly ties into a knot. She sometimes has to wear glasses but doesn't wear them all the time since she can usually see perfectly without them. Laura thinks she's overweight but in reality really isn't, she's just got slight amount of extra fat on her.
Backstory: She Zues's daughter, except her mother doesn't know that and neither does Laura. Neither of them know because of Zues's jelousy. A long time ago he lived with Laura's mother only they her and Zues both started arguing, one day she crossed the line and Zues cast her soul into a mortal body, this mortal body happened to be marryied to a drunk and abussive husband. As her mind entered this womans body she gained all the memories the woman had. This wiped out all of her own memories. The only problem was she always had this nagging feeling that she used to be more then what she was and she had a better life then this. About three weeks into her new life she realised she was pregnant, which she couldn't understand since her and her husband hadn't had sex in years. This was when she gave birth to Laura. One day Laura's father (Jed) got to drunk and ended up killing Laura's mother, Laura was fifteen at this point. She was also extremely depressed, since her mother had become an alcohoic and a smoker. While her dad abused her in more ways then one. On the night her mother died Laura decided to run away from home.
To sum up Laura has Zues's blood in her which doesn't make her any more powerful however it does make her a targer to a lot of people since they belelive they can use her as bartering tool. Obviously the story doesn't have to revolve around because a lot of mythical cretures don't care about Zeus and are to busy worshipping there own Gods.
Anyways let me know if all of that makes sense and I'll start the story up.

Name: Orion Sex: Male Appearance: Wears a almost knee length scarlet tunic and sandals (The ancient roman/greek kind). He is muscular and has short curly brown hair.
Backstory: Boeotian hunter. When Oenopion delayed giving his daughter Merope to him, Orion, when drunk, violated her. Oenopion then blinded him, but his vision was restored by the rays of the sun. The story of Orion's death has many versions. Some state he offended Artemis, who killed him. Others say that he became her favorite hunting companion, but offended Apollo, who loosed a giant scorpion to chase Orion into the sea. Apollo then tricked Artemis into shooting Orion. When she discovered what she had done, she gave way to her grief and immortalized her companion and the scorpion by placing them in the heavens as constellations.

Name: Arissa Sex: Female Appearance: long, dark brown, curly hair and green eyes, human body, with a bird tattoo on the back of her right shoulder
Backstory: she belongs to a group of sirens who used to live on Bayle Island, luring sailors to their deaths, but soon there was a lack of sailors so their half bird bodies were changed into human bodies and sent to the main land to kill. The sirens can be recognised by the bird tattoo on the back of their right shoulder, but usually by the time the victims notice it it would be too late.

Cool, now that we've got some people I suppose I'll start it off, I'm not sure how you want to get your chracters involved so I'll leave that up to you.
Laura was running as fast as she could, tears were streaming out of her yellow tinged eyes, she heard them drop down onto her neck. She didn't care not at that point in time, the image of her drunken dad smashing the bottle over her mothers vague face was repeating over and over. In her right hand she was holding a old, torn suitcase. All it had in it was her father's wallet and a change of clothes, hopefully that would be enough to get her out of this town and out this life.
The night was cold and the wind hit against her face, the rain began to patter down, soaking her hair. Evetually she made it to the train station. "Can I have childs train ticket." She panted, her voice was in sharp bursts and muffled by sobs. "Where to?" Asked the man, in a sympathetic voice, his blue eyes filled with pitty seeing the state she was in. "Anywhere, the soonest train leaving" She replied fumbling with the wallet, she was trying desperatley to get the money out. The man felt pitty for her, her cheek was purple from where she had been hit and her eyes had become bloodshot with tears. "Don't worry about the money, here you go." He said handing her a ticket he went onto say "I hope life treats you better then it has been." "Thank you." Replied Laura between sobs and attempts to get oxygen into her lungs. She walked outside into the night, and waited for the train to come. It was a long time and by the time it came she was totally drenched and could hardly move she was shivering so much.

Name: Rondis Gender: Male Race: Elf Appearance: He has shoulder-length, ginger hair that he is constantly pushing out of his large, amber eyes. He is short for his age (twenty-four in human years) and broad in build. Background: He knows little about his parent or family but suspects that his father was at least half human, considering his remarkably human appearance. He was raised by Elves after his parents were assassinated (though he doesn't know why) until he was old enough to train as an assassin, in the hope that he would discover who killed his parents. He loves living amongst humans and learning from them.

Laura shook herself off as she climbed aboard the train, rather ineffectually, and trudged into the carriage to find a seat. It was mostly empty, save one or two people already there, most of whom were asleep. Laura was glad that no one could really see the state she was in. She sat herself down behind a ginger-haired man and leant her head against the window, watching a tear track down her face reflected in the grimy window through which she could barely see the station as the train pulled away. Laura closed her eyes, more tears falling. Should have brought a tissue... "Excuse me?" A male voice cut into her thoughts and made her jump. She almost leapt to her feet in alarm. She looked up; the red-headed man in front of her had stood up and was leaning over the seat. He was holding a packet of tissues out to her. Laura stared at him for a second before coming to her senses. "Thank you..." She took one of the tissues and dried her eyes, furiously embarrassed. When she looked up again the man had come to sit beside her. "Are you okay?" "Fine..." Laura mumbled, staring at her knees. "Running away from home?" "Yeah...Hold on," she said suddenly, looking at him in the eyes. "How did you know--?" The man smiled. "I'm good at reading faces," he said. "And guessing causes." He held out his hand. "I'm Rondis."

A man entered the carriage, from another one, looking like someone had just come from a reinactors or fancy dress party. He had a bow and an empty quiver strapped to his back. He slowly walked on looking in awe and amazement.
Laura watched this man and assumed that he was on drugs or something because he looked as if he had never seen a train in his life before. He eased is way down the carriage and stopped next to them. "What strange clothes you people wear" He said in a glazed voice "We could say the same about you" Rondis replied "What? It's your average tunic of my land" "You can cut the role playing crap" "Role playing? Do you think the famous Orion would pretend to be somebody!" "What are you on? Orion is just a bunch of stars"

Orion looked Rondis up and down "You dare." growled Orion his voice was slow and dangerous. Rondis saw Orions fist clench with anger. Fortunately he calmed down and went to find himself a seat. "Sorry about that, I'm guessing he was either a total nut or utterly high on something." Said Rondis relaxing into his seat. "okay." Said Laura, the confrontation had taken her mind of the night for a while. She sighed and rested her head on the window. The train bumped along the track and for the first time that day Laura realised how tired she was. The bruise on her cheek was throbbing and her legs ached from running to the train station. "So do you want to talk about it." Rondis asked suddenly "Not really, its to much." Replied Laura, she wiped the tears away from her eyes and wondred if she would ever stop crying. "You know that it'll just get worse and worse, I understand talking to strangers about your problems isn't the most normal thing to do, but I do want to help." Said Rondis. "Thank you, maybe you do, but I just can't to go into it." Replied Laura. "Fair enough." "Not tonight." "Do you even know where your going?" Asked Rondis "No," sighed Laura. Rondis opened his mouth to say something but thought better of it.

They sat in silence for an hour. The train occasionaly stopped at stations but Orion was still on there. Rondis finally spoke up. "What do you think of our 'Orion' Friend?" "Well its probably true that he is Orion I mean common your an Elf! Your kind lived in books and here you are in our world!"

[glow=red,2,3000]Just for future reference, I wouldn't expect Rondis to be quite so forthcoming...but who am I to judge [/glow] "Well, they do call this the Year of Forgotten," Rondis said with a smile. "But you do have to suspect people like this, I guess," Laura said. "Humans, I mean. Weird sort of people." Rondis raised his eyebrows. "I like humans," he said slowly. "I think they're magnificent. But that's probably because they are so strange. Where are you from?" he sprung abruptly.

"Me? I'm from Manchester, I hated it there." Sighed Laura, she remembered her old school, everyday she went in she'd get teased and the boys were much, much to sexual. Even though by that point in her life she was used to it.

Name: Adonis Blue Age: 20 Race:Nymph/Human Looks: Adonis has sandy/dirty blonde hair which is cut into a messy style. He has tanned skin and piercing sapphire eyes and is very good looking . His body is relatively smooth apart from some light stubble on his face. Adonis is very well toned and muscular. Background: Aphrodite compelled Myrrha (or Smyrna) to commit incest with Theias, her father, the king of Assyria. Her nurse helped her with this trickery to become pregnant, and when Theias discovered this he chased her with a knife. To avoid his wrath Aphrodite turned her into a myrrh tree. The tree later burst open, allowing Adonis to emerge. In the year of the forgotten Adonis is the son of Myria (Myrrha) and Phoenix- a professional Rock Star. He isn't aware of the real story of his birth. Because of his extremely good looks Adonis became a male model and because of Aphrodite's guardianship has a lot of admirers, the fact that his mother is a nymph gives him the ability to seduce most people. Though his good looks attract people they normally attract shallow and vain people. Adonis is just looking for true love.

Rondis didn't know where Manchester was but he didn't question. "Why?" "Because...well, I just did," Laura said sadly. Rondis sensed that there was little point in questioning her. "I used to live in Gloucestershire," he said instead. "In the Forest of Dean. My foster parents were miners." "Really?" Laura dried her eyes again and looked at him in interest. "What about your real parents?" "I don't know. I never knew them." Mostly true, Rondis thought calmly. "I was on my way to the coast on this train," he added.

"I don't know where I'm heading, as long as its not back the way I came I don't really care." Replied Laura thoughtfully, it occured to her that she had no idea where she was going or what she was going to do when she got there. Before Rondis could reply the train started to slow down. "Are we coming up to a stop?" Asked Laura looking out the window, doubtfully. "I don't think so." Answered Rondis looking at the map of the train. The lights began to flicker on and of and a cold breeze went through the carriage of the train. Laura shivered, the lights were now completely down, she could only make out the rough shapes of the other passangers.

"What's going on?" Laura asked nervously as she felt her skin go numb in the chilling breeze. Then they heard someone humming softly, a sweet tune that swallowed their tension and fear, filling them with calm and peace. Laura listened carefully: the voice came from outside the carriages. THen a man got up, opened the door and went outside. He was smiling and mumbled something under his breath as he walked like a zombie towards the voice. Puzzled, some people leaned against the window to try and see where he was going, but it was dark outside and they could only see the man's shaowy fingure. The humming stopped, and suddenly the man screamed. Everyone backed away from the window, frightened. They saw the shadowy figure of the man collapse, and everything was quiet again.

"Oh God." Whispered Laura under her breath, her hands gripped her legs very tightly. Rondis inched over to the man and checked for a pulse, there wasn't one. Slowly the humming started up again. The men tried to get to the door, a most of them were fortunate enough to be held back, yet not all of them. "Stop it!" Yelled Rondis, who was trying desperatley to fight the sensation. He jumped back in shock as blood splattered against the trains window, screams echoed through the cartridge. "Right, this has to stop." Said Rondis getting to his feet.

He pushed his way through the men and got out of the carriage. "Come back!" Laura shouted. "It's dangerous!" She listened to the song: it was a sweet tune, but she didn't understand why some people were hypnotised by it. She certainly felt no effect of the song on her. Looking around, her mouth opened slightly as she noticed it. "They're all.....men" she said to no-one. "That's right" Orion replied. SHe looked at him and saw he had wax sealing his ears. "I lip read you." he said. "Stay here and don't go out...if my guess is correct, there's a Siren out there" He looked at her firmly. "don't go out." then left.

Orion managed to get outside the train and pulled himself onto the roof. As he suspected there was a siren singing. The siren was facing the other way singing sweet music to the men. He snuck up behind her and kicked her in te back. She fell down and he lept on her placing a hand over her mouth to stop her singing again. She bit his finger and got out of his grasp. They jumped up and she started to run, he followed her. He was closing on her but she jumped off and landed in the field then continued to run away.

He lost sight of her and stood in the open field, looking around. The siren sat on a tree branch, her sharp nails clawing into the wood. She looked down at him and snarled, "You're next to die" Unable to spot her, Orion returned to the train. Several men had scars all over their body where the siren had dug her nails in. Orion took the wax out of his ears and saw Laura and Rondis. "She's gone?" Rondis asked. "Yes" orion answered. "But she'll be back"

After pulling up at the station, Laura, Rondis and Orion disembarked. They decided to grab a muffin and a cup of coffee to discuss the events that had happened on the train. Adonis lazily mooched past with his hood up and large sunglasses sheilding his face from unwanted attention His blonde fringe blowing in the wind. He walked into the cafe...ignoring the girls suggestive comments.

Rondis was staring at his coffee without drinking it. He looked up at Laura and Orion. "What were the Sirens doing on the train?" he asked. "They usually stay around the coast...don't they?" "Who knows?" Orion replied. "There may be more of them around, though. We should keep a lookout." He looked over at Laura. "Are you okay?" Laura was staring at a table near the window. "That man..." she whispered, without looking up. "He's watching us."

"Hmm, I do not beleive that he is fully human." Said Orion glancing over at the man. "Still I do not beleive that we have much to fear, there is only one of him and many of us." He added. "Still we may want to get out of his eye sight, there's something about this night that makes me feel very uncomfortable." Replied Rondis "But its raining outside and it doesn't look as though he means to hurt us." Argued Laura, she was cold enough already and didn't fancy wondering around the streets of a strange town.

"Just ignore him," Orion suggested. "Maybe he'll stop." On the contrary, as Laura kept shooting glances over, the stranger in the corner kept his eyes upon the three at all times. Eventually Rondis gave Orion a shove. "Go find out who he is," he hissed. "Why me?" "Because you're closer." "You go." "You go." "Fine." Orion stood up and moved over to the stranger.

"Hello, I am Orion, I must ask why is it that you are looking over at our table?" Asked Orion, Adonis looked at up him. "I'm sorry but I do not wish to share the reason." "Then I must ask you to stop, it is unnerving some of us." "The girl, she looked straight at me didn't she?" "Yes, but I don't know what that has to do with the subject at hand." "No, you wouldn't, very well I shall leave you, but somehow I think we may meet again." "Then for your sake I hope there that we meet on better terms." Said Orion drawing himself up to his full height. There was a moment of tension between the two, Adonis was the first to break it, he walked quickly out the door.

"That's him sorted out" Orion said as he returned to his table. "He was a strange man" Laura said "He said we will meet again" Orion continued "Do any of you know him?" Rondis and Laura shook their heads. "even if we did," rondis said "we wouldn't have recognised him....he kept his identity quite well hidden under that hood." Then a waitress came up to them. She was in her mid thirties and looked as if she hadn't slept for nights. "You men better drink your coffee and leave as soon as you can" she said. "Why? we were planning on staying here for a few nights" Rondis said "If you don't want to risk death I suggest you go as far from here as possible. It's for your own safety." the waitress said, then looked at Laura "The girl can stay if she wishes. She's fairly safe" "excuse me" Orion interrupted. "but may you please explain what is going on" The waitress leaned closer to them and whispered "Sirens" Laura gasped. "But they live in islands" Rondis said "No" the waitress said, her eyes widening in fear. "not anymore. They're here. On land. And what's more frightening is that they are in the forms of humans. Hard to tell which ones are them. There are several, and their songs curse us through the nights. Each morning, at least 50 women will find themselves as widows." A tear fell from her eyes. "my husband....he died last night." "I am so sorry" Laura said "They are here to kill" the waitress continued. "So I strongly advise you to leave, right now. Don't ever come near ehre ever again. once all the men have died in this town, they will move on to another. Please, be careful, keep an eye out." "Madam," Orion said "We had just encountered one of them on our way here and we are not going anywhere. We will do whatever we can to help you. If these sirens are not destroyed they will destroy us." The waitress bit her lower lip. "Stupid people" she muttered "can't you see, we are hopeless against them. their songs will hypnotise you and you will go to them. It's no good trying to fight, just leave. please."

"Umm could we please rent a room, please? I'm very tired." Begged Laura, she had lost track of everything that had happened over the day, first she run away from home, then she met some very strange people, then she witnessed a bunch of men get slaughtered and finally she arived to a town to find out it was in the brink of destruction. "Yes, rent a room, but your two friends won't live to see you in the morning" She replied "I can handle myself I am told that I had the stars named after me." Said Orion proundly "Are you high?" She asked "No, I am clearly on the ground." "Right...well since I won't ask you to pay, there's no way you'll live long enough." She showed the group of people to there rooms.
A bit later on a very beufiful looking man came into the place, again the waitress tried to shew him away but he was insistent. "Here's your room mister..." "Adonis, mister Adonis." He replied

Orion was settling into his room when there was a knock at the door. Before he'd had time to answer it, Rondis showed himself into the room. "Well?" he said. "Well what?" "The waitress? Trying to show us out like that?" he came into the room and sat down on Orion's bed. "I think something's up." "Of course something's up," Orion said. "Sirens are up, Rondis." Rondis shook his head. "Sirens operate alone, generally. And they live by the sea. If there are groups of them on land, something--or someone--must be behind it. And people keep trying to single Laura out from us. I think someone's trying to get to her." "You think too much," Orion said off-handedly, trying to hint to Rondis that he wasn't interested in conversation. Rondis didn't take the hint. "I don't think we're safe here." "Of course we aren't safe here." "Then what are we doing here?" "We've got nowhere else to go. Tomorrow if there's a problem we'll leave. Now go back to your room and stop fussing." Rondis stood up and did as he was told. He was half way to the door when Orion called him back. "Rondis..." He hesitated, turning back. "Lock your door tonight," Orion said quietly. "Just in case."
