Ambekyer ran both hands through his hair. "So...you're still in charge?" "That's right." Ambekyer smiled grimly. "Having fun?" Anariel sighed sadly, leaning on the edge of the bed. "No, I'm not." She looked up at Ambekyer. "I don't know what to do. Everyone's depressed from the battle. We lost more than I'd anticipated." "Really?" "Not too many. But more...than we'd hoped. And still no sign of--" "Anariel!" a voice suddenly cried from behind them. Anariel jumped up as a young man ran into the room. "Anariel, we've had word from Captain Naed!"

[glow=red,2,300]Okay I'm just gonna make this up from scratch[/glow]
The man skidded to a halt at Ambekyer's bedside. "He's been attacked," he said breathlessly. "In Osgiliath." Ambekyer and Anariel gasped. "He sent back messengers when he first arrived but they never reached us. The messenger who arrived this morning was in a group of six, and they were ambushed four times; only one of them survived. Captain Naed was attacked in the city--they think it was an attempted assassination--and the messenger said that he'd been under close guard in case it happened again." "Where is this messenger?" Anariel demanded. "I want to speak to him." "Sorry, Miss, but he died not a few minutes ago. He was badly injured from the ambush." Anariel jumped to her feet. "We have to get over to Osgiliath," she said. "We can fight off ambushes. Someone needs to find out who tried to assassinate Captain Naed." "It was probably someone in league with these attacks," Ambekyer said. "I'll bet they were the ones who called Naed away in the first place, to leave us undefended. Good thing he left someone capable in charge." Anariel shot Ambekyer a glance that made him quieten. "Rouse the men," she told the messenger. "I'll be with them shortly. We'll ride to Osgiliath and bring Naed back." "I'll come with you," Ambekyer said, as the messenger ran out again. "No." "Anariel, I'm fine." He sat up defiantly. Anariel noticed the suppressed pain in his face. "You aren't." "I'll be fine. No corsairs--" He struggled to sit up, "--are going to keep me down. I'll come with you." "But..." Anariel couldn't deny that she wanted Ambekyer to come. As keen as she was to prove herself she was afraid to go to Osgiliath alone. "Okay," she said. "I'll send the healers to make sure you're alright while I speak to the army again."

[glow=red,2,300]sorry its been so long my internet wasnt working but i'm back now! and mike that was a realy bad post[/glow] Naed awoke in a dark room with nothing except a door and a window. the room was dark and had no meens of ilumination Naed got to his feet and looked out the window which suprisingly had no bars. the window was hanging over a cliff that seemed to drop forever into a hole of darkness.Naed looked up and looked at a rock sticking out that used to be a bridge.he knew where he was but had no meens of telling anybody.

[glow=red,2,300]Sorry about the whole assassination thingy, but I had to say something So Naed is locked up somewhere now? Captured? This could be interesting...[/glow] Ambekyer leant against the doorframe outside the healing houses, watching Anariel stride up and down on the platform, her voice echoing out across the courtyard where the army was assembled. Her confidence had risen since she had first been given this task, Ambekyer thought with a smile. Her voice held a certain tone of defiance that almost made it sound as though she actually believed any of the moral-boosting lies she was giving the men. Ambekyer didn't blame her for trying to install some confidence in them. They knew that their captain was injured and, now, captured and lost, and that they may never see them again. Anariel, Ambekyer knew, didn't believe they could get him back, but from the way she was talking you'd almost think that she believed it herself. Ambekyer sat down at the edge of the platform, waiting for her to finish.

[glow=red,2,300]no problem about the assasination you kept it together good! ;D[/glow]
Naed stared over the black pit and noticed there was a small ledge above his window. he knew it was either die from torture or starvation or at least try and die, he grabbed a bone on the floor and made his way out side. Naed climbed onto the window ledge above and fell into the open window only to encounter 2 heavly armoured guards. they made for Naed both giving out 2 fast slashes, one knocking the wall next to him leaving a dent as large as Naeds head, the other Naed rolled out of the way, the large sword was impaled into the ground Naed ran up the sword and kicked the oversized armoured beast in the head, it let out a yell and fell over.'you don't understand why i'm in charge' Naed whisperd as he picked up the giant sword, Naed jumped as the over swang for him, Naed swang the sword around in a 360 motion and hit his enemy throwing him into the wall.
Naed dropped his sword and ran through the corridors of darkness. into what seamed like a mine, Naed made no hesitation to run across to the remains of the bridge.

[glow=red,2,300]Smooth How do you pronounce Naed? I've been pronouncing it 'N-aye-d', is that right?[/glow] The men cheered as Anariel finished speaking. Victory, survival, honour...the usual speech, Ambekyer thought. Anariel turned around and noticed him in the doorway. She came over to him. "The men seem happy enough," he said, trying to sound cheerful. "I suppose." Anariel led him inside. "I'm taking three of the strongest knights up to Osgiliath to search for Naed. We'll look for him on the way, and if we don't find him, and if he's not in the city, we'll keep looking around and about for him. We will not return," she added firmly, "until we've found him." "Sounds like a plan." Anariel shrugged. "How are you feeling?" "Anariel, really, it was just a scratch." "A scratch? I've never seen so much blood, Ambekyer." "Well, slightly more than a scartch. Nothing compared to what they could be doing to Naed if we don't find him." Anariel smiled. "Okay then. Let's get ready to go."

The colour drained from Naed's face. He doubled back, but the gates through which he had just passed had swung shut behind him. He was trapped. [glow=red,2,300]Sorry to land you in that one but it had to be done I suggest you break a way out by getting the troll to bash through somehow (maybe by dying on it...)[/glow] By sunrise a day later, Ambekyer and three tall, skilled members of the army were assembled at the gates waiting for Anariel to turn up. Ambekyer's arm had been treated and bound and he was determined not to let his face betray any pain he could have been in. He was wandering back and forth across the gate, talking occasionally to his three new companions, wondering about they were about to set off to do. Finally Anariel arrived, equiped with her weapons and a map from their to Osgiliath and all places between. Already marked upon it were the places they had suggested searching on their way. Equiped with this they mounted their horses and the five of them set off out of the city.

One of the warriors, known as Raptor, confronted Anariel. "What happens if we can't find Naed? Who takes control of the army?" Anariel hesitated. "Naed left me in charge...so I supposed I would." "With respect," Raptor said, "it goes against traditions. Naed's second-in-command should take over, I suppose..." Anariel shuddered at the memory, "...but he fell in the battle." "He did?" Ambekyer said, not bothering to keep the cheer from his voice. "Shame." "Naed never said what would happen in this situation," Raptor said. "I'm his advisor, you see. He said he'd always hand down to the second-in-command, but when I asked what should happen in his absence he never answered." "I think Anariel was a good choice," Ambekyer said stubbornly. "Personally, I do as well," Raptor said. "You are a good warrior." One of the other men mumbled something. "You disagree, Duryn?" Ambekyer demanded. Duryn grunted. The words 'patriotic' and 'female' were heard. "Don't you dare criticize--" Ambekyer began in a raised voice. "Ambekyer," Anariel muttered in his ear. "Drop it." Ambekyer glared at Duryn, who had already turned away. In silence they rode on. [glow=red,2,300]Oops, I introduced some conflict. My bad. [/glow]

Naed jumped from side to side dodging the giant club swings coming his way, the troll swang an overhead cleve hitting the ground neerby, Naed jumped on to the club and began to run up it's arm he reach his shoulder and stabbed the bone he had long had into the troll's eye and twisted it at an angle leaving it wedged in the large beast's skull. it was partialy bling now Naed jumped off as the troll gave a scream of terror that would make everybody's heart chill, Naed grabbed a neer by rock and threw at the bone hitting it into the trolls brain killing it insantly the troll fell to the floor.
as soon as the troll hit the floor, the sounds of the armoured people where heard in the narrow hall ways. 'Maybe i'l be here longer then i thought' said Naed as he grabbed an anchient sword lying on the floor beside him.

The gate behind him crashed open and at least twelve figures flooded into the hall, armoured and armed to the teeth, war cries echoing around him. Naed was ready for them; the first two that reached him fell, minus their heads, as he swung his sword in a wide arc, and another two staggered back in agony as his blade slashed them. Then the rest of the group reached him, and the fighting really began.
Anariel, Ambekyer and the group eventually found their way to a village that wasn't marked on their map. It was a small settlement of maybe eight or nine houses and a town centre, farms, a well, the basiscs of civilisation. Anariel sent Duryn and two others off to find a place for them to spend the night while she, Ambekyer and Raptor went to ask after the leader of the town. Soon they came across a group of villagers, and they pointed them in the right direction. The villagers led them to the town hall, a larger building in the centre of the village, where they told them the leader would be waiting for them. Inside they found themselves in a small assembly hall, and indeed they found the leader there: a tall, black-haired man who looked as though he'd been in one too many fights in his time. He was only too happy to serve the group and offered them accommodation and food while they were staying. Anariel asked him if he'd seen or heard of any other travellers in the near past. "There was one," he said thoughtfully. "A rich-looking fellow rode through some time ago. He stayed for a few days. I think he was a Captain. He said he was on his way to Osgiliath." Anariel thanked him for his help and information, and they promised to return in the morning, before she led them off to where they would stay the night.

Naed slased there legs leeving them fallen to the floor in pain and finished them off with an overhead blow, Nead felt an agonising pain to his elbow, one of the armoured figures had hit him with an warhammer which had definatly broken some bones. Naed grabbed his sword that had fell to the ground(when he got hit) with his left hand and stabbed the armoured figure inbetween the eye slits, 'suck on them apples' said Naed whilst removing the sword from his head. after several minutes of fighting Naed had finished that last of the armoured figures and had fell to the ground in lack of fatigue, 'well then next problem how do i gst out of this dump' said Naed to himself, just after thos brief words another figure came out of the black halls this one was wearing robes and a heavy helmet and wieldid a black staff, A mage no doubt about it naed got one thing out before the fighting began 'ooooohhh sh**'

[glow=red,2,300]We are gonna have to catch up with you as soon as we can!![/glow] The room the landlord had set up for them was on the top floor of the tavern, and the group began to settle in for the night. At nearing midnight, when the companions were still awake and talking, Ambekyer, who had been exploring outside, burst into the room looking both excited and breathless. "Anariel," he said quickly, "I've just spoken to a fellow outside who has seen Captain Naed!" Anariel and Raptor leapt to their feet. "This guy said that a group of men from Osgiliath passed through here, and they knew that Naed had arrived in Osgiliath and moved on towards the west. There's a Citadel up on the mountain closest to the city, and the men said a pack of hunters had also seen Naed around that area." He said all this very fast and had to stop to catch his breath. "They reckon he's being held prisoner there," he finished breathlessly. Anariel grabbed the map from Duryn and found the city, the mountains, and, eventually, the Citadel. "It says here that the Citadel is abandoned and ruined," she said. "There must be something left there, and someone holding him prisoner. Right. We'll set off first thing tomorrow." As the night drew on the conpanions gradually drifted to their individual rooms until Anariel and Ambekyer were the only ones left. Ambekyer turned to Anariel as Raptor departed them. "I guess we should turn in as well," Anariel said, standing up. Ambekyer stood up as well. "Thank you for all your help, Ambekyer," Anariel said with a yawn. "I wouldn't have gotten this far without you." She was so tired, not paying attention, that she didn't notice how close Ambekyer was standing to her. "I wouldn't even be in the army if it wasn't for y.." "Shhh." Ambekyer cut across her unexpectedly, placing his finger against Anariel's lips. For a second she was confused, looking up at him. Ambekyer's face was expressionless, a slight sense of doubt in his eyes, as though he didn't quite know what he was doing. Anariel stared at him, finding the rest of the room shrouded in darkness, and Ambekyer's face the only thing she could really see, his eyes bright in the darkness. Ambekyer slowly reached a hand to brush Anariel's hair from her face, and slowly she leaned towards him.
[glow=red,2,300]I leave that to the imagination.[/glow] Raptor was the first to rise the following morning, and had prepared their rucksacks and horses by the time the others were fully assembled. Anariel, strangely light-hearted for reasons Ambekyer was the only one to guess, bid farewell to their host and together the companions set out in the direction of Osgiliath.
[glow=red,2,300]Sorry, I couldn't resist ;D[/glow]

OT: wow ive just relised i'm gona be fighting all night if you where leeving in the morning....now how could i have filled that gap.....
Naed was thrown into the wall at such a trmendus force that rocks fell from it, he had been fighitng all night with this evil mage Naed's energy was almost depleted and his strength was about to fail him, but he knew that everybody in osgilath, and mini's tirith where counting on him to lead there armys to victory. Naed got back to his feet and did a few sliced arcs in the mage's robes, but his blade just seemed to go through it 'this mad, and unfair at that, i can not win in skill or strength I think there is only one way i can beet this and thats by inteligence' whisperd Naed to himself. Naed waited to till the mage was charging his attack, he felt it hard to contain himself to make sure his timeing is precise, and then the mage attacked naed picked up a neerby rock and threw it into the path of the mage he then jumped to the floor and took cover. sudenly the cave was collapsing on the both of them and then no visible light could be found. Naed had thrown the rock into the path of the mages spell colliding with it and forcing it into the wall which created a large tremer in the ground causing the cave to collapse, it should kill them both but Naed as always had a plan.

[glow=red,2,300]This will probably be a somewhat supernatural leap across the landscape but what the hey[/glow] It wasn't long before the city of Osgiliath was visible on the horizon. Weary and unwilling to continue, it was all Anariel could do to pursuade the others to carry on through the evening until they should reach the city. As they rode steadily and solemnly towards the ever distant city walls, Raptor suddenly drew to a halt. "What?" Anariel stopped as well. "What's wrong?" "I thought I heard..." Raptor hesitated, glancing around. "Maybe it was nothing..." At that precise moment the rider beside Duryl gave a strangled cry and the others heard a thud in the darkness; spinning around in her saddle Anariel turned in time to see him hit the ground, the feathered shaft of an arrow producing from his neck. In an instant she, Ambekyer, Raptor and Duryn had dismounted and had their swords to hand; one of their companions also made it to the ground on his feet, the other following onto his back with an arrow in his chest. Before anyone could speak the ambushers were upon them, and combat begun. The fighting was swift and sudden, and barely before Anariel could recognise the people they were fighting they had been defeated. Driving her sword through the man in front of her Anariel looked around; another of their companions now also lay dead and Duryn was down on hands and knees, coughing and groaning. Raptor was standing nearby, alert and ready to attack, and behind him, Ambekyer was down on all fours, with the last surviving ambusher pinned on his front to the ground. She hurried over, placing the blade of her sword against the stranger's throat. "Speak quickly," she said in a harsh whisper, "or I'll slash your throat. Where are you from?" "Th-th-the mountains," the man said, choked by Ambekyer's hand against the back of his neck. Anariel crouched the better to hear him. "W-w-we were sent b-by Lord D-Darvando." "Who is he?" "Our l-l-leader." "Did you ambush Gondor last week?" No answer. "Answer me!" shouted ANariel. "Yes!" cried the stranger in terror, feeling Anariel's blade cut into his skin. "And took captives?" "Yes." "Where are they now?" The man whimpered in pain. Ambekyer released his arm and he pointed in west, where, in the distance, not far from Osgiliath, the shadow of a mountain could be made out." Anariel breathed a sighof relief. They could be there by tomorrow nightfall. "Thanks." She stood up, wiped her face with her arm, and nodded to Ambekyer, who swiftly stood up and stabbed the stranger through the back. Anariel hurried over to where Raptor and Duryn were. Raptor rolled Duryn onto his back, resting his head on his knees. The hilt of a dagger was pressed right against the flesh Duryn's shoulder, the blade producing behind him. It didn't take a medic to know that he was unlikely to survive. Duryn's face, contorted in a mixture of pain and trying not to show it, told them that this wasn't a fate he was willing to accept. "Hold still, Duryn," Anariel said, kneeling beside Raptor; Ambekyer stood nearby, watching, his face impassive if very pale. Anariel tried to ignore Duryn's groans of pain as she took hold of the dagger hilt, slippery with blood, and pulled it out; Duryn yelled in pain and Raptor immediatly set about trying to staunch the flow of blood. Anariel gazed at the blade of the dagger in her hands; beneath the blood runes were carved into the metal, and she was certain she recognised them from somewhere. "He's not going to make it," Ambekyer said slowly. Anariel stood up to speak to him. "We'll camp here," she said eventually, the dagger still in her hands, steadily dripping blood to the ground at their feet. "He may pull through..." There was no faith in her voice, Ambekyer noted. He had no strong feelings for Duryn but it made him feel sick to see a man die and even worse to know that the man was on his side, and was fighting for him. "Set up camp," Anariel repeated, her voice stronger this time. "We'll just see what hapens." [glow=red,2,300]Yes again with the death and blood there...sorry about that [/glow]
