[glow=red,2,300]'Cept the departure of dear Ambekyer, of course [/glow] As Naed and Raptor began gathering their possessions that had been scattered during the fight, Anariel looked down again into the still face of the Elven boy, wondering where he had come from, how old he was, why he had joined the army. Who he was. All the questions she had never asked, had never needed to ask, and now would never know. She slowly laid Ambekyer's head on the ground, resting his hands on his stomach, and absently wiped her eyes, almost oblivious of the tears on her cheeks. Even in death, he will love you, Naed had said. I hope you will too. She did, she realised. She still loved him, always had and always would love him. Despite herself she managed a weak smile. She had once heard the tales of Elves, and what became of them after death. Maybe where Ambekyer was now wasn't so bad; maybe he was happier there. Maybe he was waiting for her, never forgetting her. Closing her eyes she finally released his hand and stood up as Naed and Raptor returned to her side. Together they cleared the area, piling the bodies of the slain orcs. As they were completing the task the sound of horses hooves became audible, and soon the riders of Gondor had reached them.

''bout time'' Said Naed ''you could have come sooner''. Naed was in a bad mood from losing an important part of his team.

[glow=red,2,300]Well better late (and short) than never, eh Fi? lol[/glow]
The leader of the riders dismounted, trying to let Naed's bad mood pass on him.
"There were complications with organisation...since you've been gone, Captain..."
Naed stared him down for a moment, wanting to shout at hm, but decided against it.
"I need transport for our remaining team," he muttered. "And for...for Ambekyer."
The rider nodded. He indicated two of his riders over to where Raptor was standing with Ambekyer, then turned back to Naed.
"What happened?"
"We were ambushed," Naed said shortly, resisting the urge to add, 'and we lost Ambekyer because you didn't get here on time'. He turned irritably away from the rider to find himself face-to-face with Anariel.
"It's wasn't their fault," she said quietly. Naed sighed, lowering his eyes.
"I know. But to think that this might not have happened if they had showed up earlier..." He shook his head. "But it wasn't their fault," he agreed. "Come on, let's get back to the city."

Anariel had the startling urge to push her horse faster than maybe it should have been in step with the others. a byproduct of the pain she felt at Amberkyers passing no doubt

Finally the city walls rose in front of them, becoming real rather than the taunting images they had seen on the horizon for so long. Anariel tried not to look anyone in the eyes, Ambekyer's voice echoing in her head. She couldn't force it out of her mind: something he had said to her that night they had shared together along their journey...
"What are you going to do?" he'd asked. "When you get back to the city, I mean." "I don't know," she remembered saying. "Stay in the army, I guess. Naed may still want me to command." She remembered his sigh, his sad smile. "I see. It's just..." "What?" "I hoped...well, I was quite keen to leave. I'd stay if you were, of course, but I thought...I thought maybe it was time to forget all this war, all this fighting. I used to hear stories about places where fighting was just something fictional. I wondered: What would it be like to go to one of these places? To spend my time in peace, relaxed, without fear? To..." His hands had closed around hers. "To spend that time with someone I wanted to be with? Someone...I loved."
Tears were in Anariel's eyes again. He'd wanted to stay with her. He'd wanted to take her away from the war to somewhere they could just be together. Now what? she thought. Now he was gone...what could she do now?

"will you be staying on here" asked Nead as if he knew what she was thinking " i don't know" answered Anariel truthfully

Naed felt sorry for her. He'd heard a little of what had happened on the journey from Raptor, but he had a feeling that even he didn't know everything that had gone on between them. He placed his hand gently on Anariel's shoulder. "Stay for a while," he said. "At least for the ceremony. But if you have nowhere to go you can stay here with us for as long as you like."

Naed got back to his home and sat at his desk, to sort the papers due from his abscence he noticed somebody standing in the shadows of his room 'sh**' he mutterd under his breath, he was unarmed and was alone. he stood up steadly and filed them in aproprite folder's, he walked back to his desk and kicked the chair with such a force it broke as the felt the force of his leather and then the foot it portects, the chair piece's flew into the shadow and hit the hidden person or thing. Naed heard the grone and pulled the thing by its coller and relised it was raptor.

"Oh--Raptor! Sorry, I thought..." Raptor groaned, letting Naed haul him to his feet. "That's okay, Captain," he mumbled, "my fault for not knocking." Naed led Raptor over to his desk to sit down. "What brings you here?" he asked, as Raptor brushed his hair out of his eyes, rubbing his stomach where a chunk of wood had hit him. "I just wanted to ask..."

''there’s been some.....sightings recently'' Raptor said in a hesitant voice ''sightings?'' answered Naed ''what king of sightings'' Raptor looked out of the window and then answered with fear in his voice ''sightings of the past, horrible, unforgettable memories that now come back to haunt us......but this time...it seems real''

Naed dropped his head into his hands. As if this day couldn't get any worse, he thought. "What kind of past, horrible, unforgettable memories?" he asked presently. Raptor shuddered. "Maybe it's best not to say right now. I've told all the city guards to alert us both if they are seen again--you can see for yourself, sir. Also...The king wants to talk to you, sir, about your trip to Osgiliath." Naed sighed. "What else?" he asked sarcastically. "Nothing else, sir. Except um, Anariel." "What about her?" "I think..." He hesitated, then sat down helplessly at Naed's desk. "This is just me speaking, sir, but I think we should move her out of the city." "Why?" "Well, to get her away from everything. From the army, from the fighting. From...well. You know waht I mean, sir. It's not that she's a girl," he added quickly, "she's done a fantastic job with leading us, sir. it's just...after what happened...after Ambekyer--after what happened, sir." Naed sighed. "I don't think she'll see it that way," he mumbled. "I'll talk to her. Do me a favour, Raptor, make sure the guard posts are all covered, and keep a weather eye out for this 'past, horrible unforgettable memory', okay?" "Yes, sir."

Naed walked around on his shift, he came to the tavern and opened the door slightly to see if everything was alright, it was silent, perhaps to silent, Naed turned around and caught something in the corner of his eye. it looked like a shadow but it was a dark green. Naed's bones turned into a deep gash that didnt want to heal, He could hear voice's in his head that kept repeating one word in his head, murderer

Nervous, Naed hurried around the corner after the shadow, and ran headlong into someone coming in the opposite direction. Both of them fell to the ground. Naed had his knife in his hand by the time he'd sat up. He recognised the person. "Oh--Anariel!" He helped her to her feet. "What are you doing out here?" "Nothing," Anariel said quietly. Naed felt he probably could have answered the question himself. "Did you just see someone around here?" Anariel frowned. "I thought I was the only one out here..."
